24th of July and other randoms......

For the 24th of July we all went to Courtney's house because you can see the fireworks from there. We BBQ'd hot dogs, baked beans, jello salad, chips and homemade raspberry banana ice cream! My mom makes it every year and it is delish!

Eric made it back from Wyoming just in time!!!
Notice Deegan is trying to stick his fingers in daddy's ears. ha ha

Not the best pic but the only one I got with my Grandma Tribett in it.

Crazy Uncle David.

For some reason, Deegan wasn't loving the fireworks. He has seen plenty so he shouldn't have been scared of them. My mom finally took him on the porch and for whatever reason, he was fine there.

And now the randoms..........

Deegan likes to take his temp.

I love this corner full of toys. And I love when Deegan is over there playing by himself. They are rarely this organized and are usually spread out all over the house but that makes me happy too. :)

Warning.....the next pics are slightly gruesome.......

Eric had a little accident that left him with a split open lip, very puffy face, sore teeth (he ended up with an infection in one and had to get it pulled), and we are pretty sure his cheek bone was broken as well.......

But he recovered and his face is back to normal!! Yay!! We like it that way best.

So there you have it. What we have been up to. No, I am far from caught up but this will have to be good enough for a few more days. Stay tuned for Vegas pics! I promise they really are coming!

Back Tracking to Bear Lake

Once upon a time, long long ago, we went to Bear Lake! It was over the 4th of July to be more precise.

My sister in law Chelsie and her family went and were kind enough to invite the Sanders' to go as well. We were so glad we did! However, I learned the hard way that swim diapers are useless and it is not a good idea to put it on your baby for an hour long car ride. Yes, we arrived in Bear Lake to a fussy baby and a disgusting carseat. Luckily, I packed an extra swimsuit for Deegan. Lesson learned!

Deegan LOVED Bear Lake! Here he is just chilaxin after his lunch.

And making a goofy face!

He enjoyed a game of Lasso Golf (is that what its called?)

LOVED splashing in the water! It was the perfect temperature and depth for him. I love how long it stays shallow!

I think he had a good time :)

Gotta love Eric's farmers tan! Its the sign of a very hard worker I think!!

We had a great time and loved going. Deegan zonked out within a couple minutes of getting in the car. It was a great day with family! I think it had been ten years or more since I had been and now I am certain we will go at least once a year.

20 & 21 Months!

Since I am a bad mommy and didn’t do Deegan’s monthly update last month, I decided I would combine all he is doing from the last 2 months!

The pics in this post are from his last photo shoot which was at the end of June. Yes, I really suck. :) There are lots more but after these 5, blogger thought that was enough and wouldn't let me load anymore.

He is saying all sorts of words and phrases. Ah betta (all better), Hi mommy, Hi daddy, (really Hi with anyone’s name), Where dad (again, where’s anyones name), Okay and Alright (he never says yes, just these words), “you ride” (when he wants to ride in his car, or on one of his rocking horses), 1, 2, 3, go! (only he only says the 2 and go. We have to say 1 and 3. We have tried and tried to get him to say it all but not yet :), for thank you he says “ag a ba” or “ag a bum” we have no idea why but we sure think its cute! He also says, hot dog, chicken, “see” for his booster seat, he has gone from saying mama, to just mom, and now is saying mommy. Horsey (bisy), bycle (cycle), guk (truck), bain (plane), Ew! (whenever you change is diaper. Ha ha). That is all I can think of for now but I swear he learns something new to say everyday! He will repeat most anything you ask him to.

Animal noises, along with dog, kitty, cow, he can now tell you what a bird, horse, pig, coyote, and monkey all say. For a pig, he can’t get his noise to snort so he has figured out how to make the noise with his throat. It is adorable!

He knows where all of his main body parts are (hair, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, toes, hand, belly, nose) and he can say the names to them all. He likes to point them out on our faces and say what each part is.

He likes to play Eric’s harmonica.

Loves his little tykes car and his outdoor slide!

We got some new neighbors with little kids and he loves playing with them.

He is still a pretty good eater but often says he wants something and when you get it made for him, he says no. Not cool!

He has started hitting, pinching, head butting and throwing things when he gets mad or doesn’t get what he wants! Little stink. Ha ha. Guess he is normal.

Follows commands. If we say lets change your bum or get dressed or get your shoes, he says Okay or Alright and heads to his room. You can tell him to throw something away for go take something to someone and he will. The other day he was brushing his teeth and walked off with the toothbrush and came back without it so I asked him where it was and to go get it. He walked off and sure enough, came back with his toothbrush!

Still gives the best open mouth kisses ever!

Loves his mommy so much and if he can’t see me will call out to me. He still loves me to hold him all the time which might be a problem after the baby is born!

He is in size 4 diapers, size 4 shoes, 6-12 month or 12-18 month bottoms and 18 month tops.

Plays really well on his own with his toys. Still loves books but prefers looking at them rather then having them read to him.

Still taking 2 naps a day most days, and sleeping about 11 hours each night.

Not doing so well in nursery but we are making slight improvements.

Loves both his Grandmas very much and gets excited when he sees we are their houses. He likes his papas too!

Likes his cousin Tayson lots more and is pretty cute to ask about him, talk to him and say bye bye to him.

He has been giving knuckles for a while but Eric’s cousin has been teaching him to explode his had and make a noise after he does it. He hasn’t figured out the hand exploding yet but he makes the cutest little explosion sound when you touch knuckles.

Nicknames are Monkey, Goober, Goob, Goobs, Deegs, Monk.

If you can’t tell, we think he is the smartest baby ever! He makes us laugh multiple times everyday. We just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and he was so good! Pics to come of course!!

Crazy that he is almost 2!!! He just gets more and more fun each day! Love you Monkey!!
