Snow shoveling

February 23!

This was one of the biggest storms we had. When daddy went out to shovel, we bundled Deegan up and he headed out to help!

He loved it!

Such a hard little worker! He thought it was a great time! Eric, not so much. Luckily our awesome neighbor, (one of them, we have lots!) came over with his 4 wheeler to help out!

February Fun

Here are a few random pics from February!

Griffin's 1 year Well Check! (Poor Deegan ended up with Croup thanks to this stupid visit)

They all do it! At least I caught him before he got toooo many taken out!

Valentines Breakfast with 2 of my sweeties! One of them is a big time cheeser!

 Mouth full of berries.

Love his eye!

Love his smile!

Love his face!

I am pretty in love with this face too!

Cake Smashing Time!!

Since I already had a bazillion pictures, I decided to give the cake smashing its own post! Here we go!

It has also become tradition for my mom to make the smash cake. Nicole frosted this one as well with the frosting my mom made. It was a pudding based frosting so it was super tasty but the thickness of it made it extra good for flinging!

Lighting the candles and sing Happy Birthday.

Digging right in!

My mom was in the "Frosting Zone" and got a couple good globs flung onto her.

I'd say he did a pretty good job! Deegan wanted nothing to do with his but I think Griffin made up for it! I have a video and if it wasn't so big I would load it on here. It is hilarious!

Polka dot cake! Didn't turn out quite like I hoped but it was still fun! Also, anyone thinking about trying the jello frosting, I don't recommend it. It was super easy to work with but not super tasty. I think it ruined the cake :( But it looked cute!

After a much needed bath.....in his new towel from Grandma Holly! (Also a tradition :)

We forgot about family pics until after the bath but they were still cute!

I obviously look awesome in this pic but I just loved Eric in it!

And this is currently my most favorite pic! Gosh, I love this family of mine! It was such a happy day! Thanks for everyone that came!!

Oh the Places He'll Go!

Griffin's 1st birthday was so much fun!! I had decided on another theme and was looking for his special 1st birthday piggy bank and came across a Dr. Suess "Oh the Places You'll go" themed one. I loved it! Then I thought, that would make a cute party! So I switched and went with it and was so happy with how it all turned out. Prepare for picture overload!!! Our awesome friend Megan came and took pics for us so I didn't have to worry too much about it. She did great!

The invite:

I think it is the cutest thing ever! My sister in law did and it couldn't have been more perfect! She does great stuff!

The decorations:

The cookies turned out flat! But everyone loved them just the same!

I love these quotes. Nice job Dr. Suess! The framed quotes are now on a shelf in his room. The colors just so happened to match his décor perfectly!

His cake! I made the cake, Aunt Nicole did the wonderful fondant "1". I have made it a tradition to make a fun, unique cake for my kids' 1st birthday. Deegan was the 6 layer rainbow cake. Griffin's was not quite as tall but still had a surprise inside!

I really had so much fun doing this! It was stressful for me but so fun and worth it!

I loved these balloon garlands and without Eric's help, it probably wouldn't have happened. This was hung out on our porch and we left it up for several days :)

The food! Yummy deli tray from Apple Creek, beautiful colored rolls from Shaffer House, and fun colorful pasta salad thanks to Grandma Holly and Pintrest! I was all about taking the fun colors overboard!

Grandma Suzy

Great Grandma and Grandpa Sanders

Crazy Uncle Dewey.

 Another adorable boy!

I don't have near as many pictures of me with my boys as I would like since I am usually the one behind the camera so I love these two. I think I love them even more that they are candid shots. I am such a lucky mom!

Eating his dinner and being so dang cute it's unfair!

Presents! He didn't care at all about this part! ha ha

Luckily he had someone very willing to help!

My mom gets all the kids a sweet personalized piggy bank too. It has his name on the other side. It is perfect!

I know 1st birthdays are more for the family (and even more so, the mom:) but I just love them! I love birthdays period but I love to make them extra special. Several people told me "You make me look bad!" That is not my intention AT ALL. You do what you like and what you feel you can and that is all that matters! I definitely don't think I am a pro by any means but I just have fun doing new things and trying to be more crafty.

Griffin, I think this was a perfect theme for you. I know you will do big things and that you will "Move Mountains". You have become a very busy and curious little dude and although it is exhausting at times, I love it. That combined with your incredibly happy and sweet personality, and of course you good looks, will help you go far in life! We couldn't be happier to have you in our family and know that we are so blessed that you chose us! Thank you sweet guy for picking me. You have made me so happy.
