6 Quirks

The rules are:
to list 6 quirks about yourself and then tag six people.
Leave them a message on their blog letting them know they have been tagged.

This could be tricky but here we go.....

1) I am a worrier! (Looks funny but I think that is how you spell it) I am even so bad that sometimes I stop and think, Is there anything I should be worrying or stressing about right now? Seriously. Lame I know.

2) I am a planner! I LOVE to have plans and get really grumpy when the plans that I had get changed. Ask Eric, it causes him stress.

3) I ask a lot of questions. Especially in movies. I am one of those annoying people that asks what is going to happen or who that guy is, when I am fully aware that you have seen just as much of the movie as I have. :) I love you Eric! (He rarely gets TOO frustrated with me for doing this)

4) I HATE HATE HATE spiders!!! It is bad. I have gotten better over the years. When we were first married, Eric heard me scream bloody murder and came racing down the stairs thinking surely I had chopped off a limb or there was an intruder, only to find me curled up on the bed due to a little spider. Oh those things give me the creeps!!

5) I am terrified of labor. You know, having a baby?? :) Obviously I know that people do it all the time and they survive, but the thought makes me SO nervous. I can't wait to have a baby but the part of actually getting it here makes me nervous. ha ha. I think it is mainly because it is so unknown to me. Duh.

6) I am VERY soft hearted. It is not necessarily a bad thing but I cry pretty easy and I feel bad for people very easy. If I hear a sad story, I cannot stop thinking about and feeling sad for whoever it has affected. It doesn't take much to get me all choked up! I also let other peoples hardships affect me greatly and often try to figure out in my mind how I can fix it. And I hate seeing old people eating alone, that really makes me sad.... :(

Well I guess that is it! I feel like I have let you all know what a basket case I really am! Oh well! I could actually keep going on. I am a very quirky person come to think of it!

Ummm...I guess I tag....Chelsie, Kiesha, Melissa, Brittany W., Gentry, and Mckenna.

Who does she think she is?!

A spoiled, rotten dog. And she doesn't think it, she knows! Totally my fault. So the other night I left a cup of water on Eric's night stand. She woke up in the middle of the night and was whining right by Eric's head. Well, half asleep, he figured out that she wanted a drink. He tipped the cup for her and she got her drink. She did this once more that night. The next night I am in on the computer (reading a fabulous blog I am sure!) and I can hear her whining at something. So I go in the bedroom and this is what I find:

Yup. A dog standing on my night stand. I walk in and I am thinking, "What the heck are you doing?!" Then I realize she is remembering she got a drink from here, but obviously there is not drink around, right? Then I decide to look in the direction she is looking, towards our bathroom and this is what I find.....

Yup. A cup sitting on the bathroom counter! I can't decide if this is annoying or super smart. What a weird little dog I have. I just thought this was pretty funny. I was worried this was going to become a habit but later that night I felt like a really big jerk when I noticed that her water dish was bone dry. What a mean mommy! Yes, I realize that I am posting about my dog when most people post about kids, but for now, this is the closest I have! :)

I thought I would throw this in while I was in my room taking pics. We don't have a headboard so I wanted to do something cute above our bed. I think it turned out pretty good! The night Eric hung it, I had my friend standing on the bed helping me arrange things when all of the sudden, the entire shelf with everything on it came crasing down! I just froze. I thought for sure everything was broken. Lucky for us, only one of the glass things chipped (very small!) and it scrapped the wall a little. Could have been much worse! Eric rehung it (more securly and against his will...) and we are just waiting for the time it falls again and we both wake up with gashes in our heads :) Hopefully not. But it looks good for now!

I looked out the window and what did I see??

Nope! It wasn't popcorn. I don't even have an apricot tree~

This purrty little rainbow! I grabbed my camera and went out to take a couple of shots. Sorry for the lovely power line! You cannot see the ends of the rainbow in this picture but I could see them. I ran as fast as I could but unfortunately for me, someone had already taken my pot of gold :( Maybe next time......

I just love it! And the best part is, after I took the pictures and stayed outside for a little while enjoying it, I came inside and looked at the window just a couple of minutes later and it had vanished. I think someone wanted to send me a little something to brighten my day! Thanks! I sure loved it!

Bronchitis?!

So the past few days Kai has been doing this funny cough, choking, duck sounding noise. I started to get a little worried so I called the vet. They said that coughing is a sign of heart disease so I of course freaked out and made an appointment that day. I had a rough morning thinking the worse possible thing but had calmed down once I took her. Turns out she is way to young to have heart disease (never listen to the receptionist!) but that she has the doggie version of bronchitis! I had no idea. It is called Kennel Cough. Weird. So they put her on antibiotics and sent me to buy robitussin. Yup. Just like a human. And she doesn't like that stuff anymore than I do. So we have to give her those meds twice a day for 2 weeks but it can take 3 weeks for it to go away. Holy moley! I am just glad it is not anything too serious. Eric even got nervous when I told him what it could be. We love our Kai Kai lots and lots! Anyways, no mental breakdowns for me! I feel bad for her though. She wakes up in the middle of the night because she has little attacks. :( It was worth the $70 bucks I had to pay to know she is not dying :) I did however purchase some heartworm medication just to be safe!

The Bachrach Family

Here is my cousin Brenda and her cute family. The pic is a little old. Brigham is now 6 and Hunter is 4. She is due with her 3rd boy next month. I just wanted to share some of the things I have learned that have brought smiles to my face.

Their friends have been amazing! Everyone stepping in to do anything they can. Buying her a new dress, buying the kids clothes, just coming in and cleaning, cooking without asking, dropping off money, etc. His father is an attorney and one of the guys in his firm has stepped up to handle the lawsuit with the semi truck company. (The cause of the accident was this semi....) Matt's friends have offered to cover the funeral expenses and the list goes on and on! It is so heartwarming to me how everyone pulls together in times of tragedy to create miracles!

Brigham is in 1st grade and wanted to go to school. His mother told him he didn't have to but he wanted to. They explained everything to the teacher and principal and said to call if they needed to come get him. He made it through the day and the teacher said he did great until his little friends would come up to him to tell him they were sorry and they would start to cry which would make him cry. What sweet kids! That night she got her 2 boys into bed with her and Hunter said he wanted to sleep in his own bed. He went and got in his bed and Brenda started to cry. Brigham sat up in bed and said, "Mom, you have to stop this. When you cry it makes me cry. Grandma is crying and I don't want to cry anymore. We need to be tough and strong and we can do this." (not his exact words but you get the gist of it) He is 6! I am sure he is Brenda's miracle. What a tough little boy. Holding his family together. It is so true that God does not give us anything we cannot handle. He makes sure we are taken care of during the hardest times. Whether it be a friend coming in to do you hair for you, brothers making sure all your financial affairs are in order, or your little boy becoming the man of the house, he is always there making sure we are taken care of.

I feel so blessed to know what I know about the church. Although I am not there experiencing this first hand and I know I have no idea what they are going through, this has all touched me so much. Matt was a musician and I have a few of his CD's. These will become so precious to the family I am sure. His music is very calming and soothing. If anyone is interested here is a link below. This would be a great way to help them out and as I said, this is great music to relax and unwind to. I have been told it is great for Yoga and Pilates as well. Thanks to all the comments and prayers in their behalf.

In the blink of an eye......

Although I have always known how precious life is and quickly things can change, I was re-reminded yesterday. My cousins husband was in a bad car accident early Sunday morning and he did not survive. He had been going to school in California and was on his way home to his family in Arizona. I was completely caught off guard and a million thoughts went through my mind. My cousin has 2 young children and is 8 months pregnant with her 3rd. I cannot imagine what she must be going through right now. It really makes me realize how precious life is and how precious family is. I couldn't help but think "What if..." What if it were me and my family. I honestly do not know what I would do without Eric. I tell him all the time and he tells me the same. Although I am not very close with my cousin, I am closer with her little sister. I talked with her breifly last night and I think they are all still in shock. My aunt has gone to Arizona to be with my cousin and everyone else is unsure what to do for now.

I just wanted to take this time to let all of you know how much I appreciate your love & friendship. I know I don't see a lot of you very often but I consider all of you my friends and a hope you also consider me yours. I would be happy to help any of you in anyway I can. So if you ever need anything, please ask.

I want my family to know how much I love them! Immediate and extended. You are all so very important to me. Eric, (I know you don't normally read this :) But you are truly my life! I love you SO much and cannot tell you how much you mean to me. As I said before, I do not know what I would do without you. I love every minute that we are together. You do so much for me and you have made me SO happy in the almost 7 years I have known you. You are my best friend! I love you babe!!

Mom, Dad, Courtney, Kevin, David & Dylan, I love you all. We are a very close family and even though we get on eachother's nerves :), I know that we all love each other very much! I love that I live so close to you all and see you often. I absolutely love doing stuff with my family. It is so hard to not see David everyday but I know that he is exactly where he should be and I cannot wait until he comes home!

Thank you again to all of you. Thank goodness for blogs!! I know that my family would appreciate any prayers in their behalf. I just wanted everyone to know that no matter how often I see (or don't see you), I value our friendship. I hope you are all doing well.

Bear Lake Parade of Homes

My family went over to Bear Lake to look at the homes on Labor Day. It was a long day but fun. There were some very nice homes. One specific one that if it weren't for the fact that it was under contract I would have bought. It was amazing and they only wanted 1.9 mil for it. Pocket change! They were all pretty nice but some of the decor made you wonder....like why would you build a brand new, very nice cabin and then decorate it with stuff you got when you were first married 30 year ago? Seriously. And blue cultured marble in the bathroom?! Gag me. It was already outdated and it was brand new! Very interesting. It was a lot of fun. Courtney was a little cranky by the end of the day however....must not have gotten her nap :)

Eating lunch. Don't ask what Dylan is doing. He is being Dylan. That is why we love him!

A bunch of dollar bills being wasted!!! Don't know what the purpose is. I am pretty sure I could put them to better use!

Kind of makes me sick now to look at this. It may not look like a heaping mountain of fried, artery cloggers, but it was!! We had no idea what large servings they were or that several of us had ordered some form of greasy goodness. Needless to say we did not eat all of them. We might be recovering from a heart attack if we had.

It was a fun, exhausting day!
