The Great California Trip of 2010--Post 4

We finally made it to the Happiest Place on earth!

Ready to ride Pirates of the Caribbean!

I posted all 3 of these because Eric is such a goober. Deegan was not a fan of this ride. Neither was Kambree. ha ha. I was surprised they let us take Deegan on when we went down a decent drop. I had forgotten about this part and was glad I was holding on tightly to him!

Deegan was getting pretty tired at this point. Looks like he found a comfy place to rest his head.

He liked looking out the window. It didn't last long thought. The combo of the darkness and the soothing ocean music put him right to sleep!

Relax Deegan, its just a ride. :) There was so much going on, I think he was a little over stimulated.

This ride was actually a lot of fun. They had laser guns that you could shoot the evil Zurg! Eric wanted to go on it again later to beat his score but it didn't happen. Deegan loved all the lights and everything on this one too!

The Great California Trip of 2010--Post 3

Next on the agenda was California Adventures. we kinda got a late start tot he day but that was fine. It was Labor Day (I think ha) so it was pretty busy! but we still did all the rides we wanted and had a fun time!

Riding Monsters Inc. I look ridiculously excited for some reason. ha. This ride was nowhere near my fav but it was cute and I was glad for rides like this that we could take Deegan on.

Look who we ran into!! Deegan met Mickey Mouse for the first time. I was pretty excited to find him and to not have to wait in line too long. We didn't get many character pics but this is one I really wanted for Deegan.

Kambree, Kaden and Randi. Kambree was so dang cute! She was so excited to see him and pointed right at him and happily exclaimed, "I like you!" ha ha It was so cute!

The ride lived up to its name! California Screamer. I love roller coasters!

Naughty, naughty. ha ha. I put Deegan down for a nap and covered his pack n play with a quilt to drown out the noise and light. After a few minutes I looked over and saw this cute little creature popping out. ha ha. I laughed pretty good. What a cute monkey!

The Great California Trip of 2010--Post 2

I was beginning to wonder if I would ever be blogging with pics again! ha ha. I finally broke down and decided to use the ghetto desk top. So on with the vacation!

I think there are still a few pics from this day on Eric's camera but oh well. Our first day in Cali we went shopping to a place called Fashion Island I believe. And I think this is the day we went to Newport Beach for a bit too. That is what happens when you wait 2 weeks to blog about your vacation! Newport Beach was a bit of a let down. I had envisioned way more shops and pretty much that I would be experiencing an episode of The OC in real life. ha. It was still fun and we ate some yummy food and took some pics on the pier. (On Eric's camera).

After the beach we went to the mall. I was super excited to see a Build a Bear since I have wanted to get Deegan one. Eric and I decided on this cute, worn looking dog who we, after much debate, named "Tug". :)

I know these pics are all basically the same but I love his different facial expressions in them.

This is his face when one of the workers started up the stuffing machine thing. I think it surprised him a little!

We had a fun day just relaxing and shopping! After a while it started to get a little windy and kinda chilly but not too bad. I was in Children's Place and the worker said, "It sure is cold out there isn't it?!" I just smiled and said, "I am from Utah." ha ha. She fully understood.

I think this is the day that we tried to go to PF Changs but it was a forever long wait, as was everywhere else. So we opted for Tony Roma's where I left early because I suddenly got SO sick and I was told we had the worst service ever!

Tomorrow is California Adventures day!

10 months old?!

Since Eric takes our laptop with him to work during the week, I have really started slacking on the blog updating. I am so far behind it is not even funny. We have a desktop but it is so slow that I hate using it. So I totally didn’t do a 9 month post for Deegan and he has been 10 months for a week now (holy cow!) so I thought I better get on it. No pics but those will come soon! I just wanted to get some stuff down before I forget. Here are some fun things about Deegan at 10 months!

• He started crawling just a couple days after the 9 month mark and he cruises!
• Shortly after crawling, he got really good at pulling himself up on anything and everything he can!He is almost always standing up to something or someone.
  
• He is always at my feet and pulling himself up on my legs. This is so cute but makes it hard to get stuff done sometimes.
• He is such a little jabberer and I love it!
• He is sometimes hard to get to bed since he thinks he is pretty neat when he stands up in his crib.
• Lately he has liked me to rock him with him sitting against my chest. He will lay his head on me and go right to sleep. I cannot even tell you how much I love this!
• He loves to play with the door stops ever since daddy showed them to him.
• He cruises around in his walker and gets so proud of himself!
• He loves most all foods, however, HATES cottage cheese. Me too!
• He loves water! Drinking it, playing in it, bathing, showering, you name it! If he sees a water bottle he gets excited and wants a drink. Same if he sees any running water. He gets so excited!
  
• He is a busy body and rarely holds still at all unless he is tired. It gets exhausting but I love it.
• He is getting to where he doesn’t really need his binki much so I am trying to see if I can get rid of it entirely before too long. He does great during the day but seems to want it more at night.
• He just barely moved up to Size 3 diapers but could still fit in size 2.
• He is still in 6 month or 6-9 month clothes and 3-6 month pants.
• His feet are still a little too chubby on top to fit in shoes.
• He thinks he is pretty funny when you are changing his diaper or clothes and he starts rolling to his tummy. It makes it quite the process!
• He loves animals! Especially dogs and my moms cats.
• I figure he weighs about 18 pounds.
• He takes about 2-3 naps a day and goes to bed about 8:30 and sleeps until 6:30-7.
• He is all boy and loves loud things! Trucks, lawn mower, vacuum…..he loves to see big vehicles drive by our house!
• He still just has his 2 bottom middle teeth.
• His hair doesn’t stand up quite like it used to and that makes me kind of sad. It seems to be getting more blond but still has some red in it so we will see!
• He is still just a happy little guy who makes my day so much better!
• He thinks its fun to throw his binki. Another good reason to get rid of it! J
• He has become quite the momma’s boy the last while. I love it but it is a little hard sometimes. It makes me so happy that he knows me and loves me so much. And I think he knows how much his mommy loves him!

I think that’s about it! I know that is a lot but I just don’t want to forget these fun things!

It has been hard lately with Eric gone so much but I am so happy to have this little guy to keep me company. There is never a moment when I wonder what I should do. No down time at my house! My house is seriously lacking but that’s okay! He is the greatest thing that has happened to us and we cannot (and don’t want to!) imagine our family without him!

The Great California Trip of 2010--Post 1

Here is post one of 20 of our trip to Cali! ha ha. Seriously though, I took a ton of pics so there will be several!

We took off Friday after work and drove to Mesquite for the night.

Deegan is a great little traveler! And check him out in his new big boy car seat. Rear-facing to 40lbs! ha ha. We love it!

After a stay in Mesquite, we were up and at it and on our way to Anaheim! We got checked into our hotel room which was right across from Disneyland. So convenient! Eric was very demanding that we eat at Joe's Crab Shack while we were in Cali so although only him and his mom like seafood, we were all nice enough to go along!

You can't tell from these pics but Deegan was not a happy camper. He had had enough for one day and didn't love dinner. He did get this shnazzy balloon animal made though!

Can you tell what it is? I sure hope so!

Here's our normal, happy guy! Dinner was good. I ordered one of like 2 items on the menu that wasn't seafood. ha ha. I may not like seafood but I sure do love hush puppies! It was a fun atmosphere regardless.

After dinner it was back to the hotel to just relax and get goober to bed.

He thought he was pretty neat standing up all by himself in his pack n play. I would have to agree with him!

I really am still here! I have SO SO many updates. We just got back from 8 days of vacation and I wasn't even caught up before we left. So check back and I really will work on updating this week! Many many pics to come!

Anything Like Me

I really like Brad Paisley. I think his songs are clever and often pretty funny. His newest song is my new favorite. I LOVE it. It think it fits Deegan and Eric almost perfectly. Here are the lyrics. The parts in bold are where I altered the words slightly to better fit us. :)

This song makes me smile everytime I hear it. If you have never heard it, you should go to youtube or something and listen to it. I had Eric listen to it and he put it right on his ipod. Can't wait to see how Deegan grows up! I know he will do great things and make us proud!
