Ultrasound Pics!

So it turns out that taking a picture of a picture of an ultrasound makes it even less clear! I know, crazy right?! Cuz those things are clear as glass to start with. But this is the best I can do.

Here is our little man! Isn't he cute? ha ha. Its okay. I think so but I think I am the only one.

This is the best 3D shot we could get. Can you see it? Obviously it looks slightly interesting, but again, I love it! You can see his little arm and I think its cool that you can make out his eye, nose and mouth.

This is my attempt to "zoom" in to make it, you know, clearer. I tried.
This one looks kinda funny but this is why we could not get a good face shot in the 3D. He kept his little self all nestled up to the placenta. Maybe this means he will be a snuggler?! I hope so! She even shook the heck out of my tummy trying to get him to move his face but it was a no go. He was probably wondering what the heck was happening. I know I sure was! As soon as she would think she had him, he would move right back to this position.

It was fun to see him again and to know that so far so good! We did get a couple good shots to "prove" he is a he but I didn't know at what point it is not appropriate to show people naked pics of your baby. ha ha

I was a little sad that they were not able to record it so that Eric could see but such is life. My mom went with me and think she quite enjoyed it. Pretty sure it has been like 14 years since she has seen an ultrasound.

So there you have it. Everything looked perfect! My due date has not changed so we are still planning on around Deember 19th. Tomorrow will be 20 weeks!! And Eric is down to 2 weeks of school!!! Man, time sure flies.

Did you notice?!

See that little countdown over there to the right? Not the baby one. The other one. Yup, that's the one! 19 days til Eric graduates and comes home for good!!!!!!!! That is less than 3 weeks!!! Can you tell I am a little excited?? I can't wait!! Now we just need to find him a job! And preferably one that doesn't require a long distance marriage or a move (commuting is okay. See, we really are not picky.:) If you could help out with that, I would appreciate it! If you don't mind, and if you remember, could you pray for us to find him a job? That would be great! I think the combo of the school and being pregnant have made each of these things go by FAST! Crazy how fast time flies. I will be a mommy before we know it! Well, I think technically I already am. :)

My Website!

I finally have my Avon website up and going! I know you are so excited! :)

You can also just click on the Avon logo to the side. This will make it very easy for you to shop and order anytime. You can choose to have your order shipped directly to you (they offer free shipping alot!) or you can have it sent to me and I will deliver it to you. This will make it nice for those of you who don't live near me. Also, you can use credit/debit cards easily online. If you prefer to still just email or get your order to me, I am happy to place the order for you and deliver it.

Feel free to browse anytime even if you don't want to order. Some of you will start getting emails showing promotions and things, if you prefer to NOT get these, let me know and I will make sure you stop receiving them (or just delete them). Also, if you WANT to receive these but don't, let me know and I will add your email to the list. Thanks everyone! Hopefully this makes things easier for everyone. Oh and have a happy 24th for those of us in Utah!

Progress!

A week or so ago we finally got something done to the yard and it looks a million times better! Now we will just see how long til we get something else done! Oh well, I think our neighbors are relieved to know we are at least make some progress. No matter how small it may be.

Here are some before pics!

Pretty, right?!

And after!

Obviously far from being finished but much better! I wanted to take some pics of the progress but I was pretty sure the workers would have thought I was a weirdo. They obviously don't know what a blog is! So now the plan is to hopefully get a sprinkler system in next month or the next and MAYBE if we are lucky get the hydroseeding done. If not, that will wait til spring. Yeah for progress!

18 on the 18th

July 18th marked my 18th week. Cool huh? I thought so! Can you believe I am almost half way there?! I can't decide if I hope the last half goes faster or slower than the first half! Here are a couple pics. Not the greatest but you get the idea.....

I need to learn to wear better shirts when taking pics. Usually I wear loose shirts because they are comfy and cool. I just tried to hold it tight with my hands. Maybe they got in the way. Anywho, you get the idea. I may have been totally relaxing my stomach (it is basically impossible to suck it in anymore!) so I don't really know how much of this is baby and how much was there prior to getting pregnant. ha ha. Either way, I am counting it all as baby. :)

So, here are some things going on with me at 18 weeks:

* We are pretty sure (90%+) it is a boy.
* I have gained about 7 pounds. I am SO okay with this.
* I can still wear my normal capris if I do the rubber band around the top button trick.
* Over the last week I have REALLY started to feel this baby move. I love it!
* I am a little nervous, curious to see what it feels like when he is a little bigger. He is seriously a crazy mover! That is why we could not get a 100% on the sex. He wouldn't hold still for a second!
* I had to buy a new bra WAY sooner than I had expected! ha ha! (Like 16 weeks)
* I still have headaches (going on 3 months) but that is really the only negative so I "really can't complain". :) My Dr. says they should start to go away over the next 2 weeks. I am guessing if they don't I will have them til the end. *Sigh*
* My "official" 20 week ultrasound is on the 29th. This should confirm the sex.
* I can still wear my wedding ring but not comfortably. I think it is also in part to the heat. So I have invested in a $7 ring from Avon. It does the trick!

Isn't it a beauty?! I ordered a size 6 and I am hoping it fits for the remainder of the time. If not, I can probably afford another 7-15$ for another one.

I think that is about it. Sorry if this last part was a little boring, I just wanted to remember these things. 18 down, 22 to go!

Live and Learn

I really do have some pics to post. Just have not had my camera. So on with another pictureless post for now....

First off......HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC!!!!!!! I love you so much and wish I could be there with you!!!

This is from another afternoon conversation with Eric. To get you up to speed on the situation, he is putting in my sister's yard when he is home on the weekends. Saturday he took his shirt off for like 3 hours or so. It was EXTREMELY warm (at least for here) on Saturday. Needless to say, his back got fried. So here is how our conversation went when he called about an hour ago...... (not totally exact quotes since I am not smart enough to remember exact words)

Me: "Hey babe"

Eric: "I am going to FREAK out!"

Me: "Why what happened?!"

Eric: "My back is itching and poking and driving crazy. One more hour of school and then I am getting home."

He wanted to know what he could do. So I told him a few things one of which involved putting something all over his entire back.

Me: "I don't know how you are going to get it on your back by yourself."

Eric: "I don't care. I will ask anyone to do it. I will squirt it on the carpet and roll in it if I have to."

I lost it at this point. I had tears coming down my face from laughing so hard. If you could hear the urgency in his voice it would make it even better. I may or may not have left out a couple choice words. ha ha I really do feel bad. I know exactly what he is experiencing. I think we have all been there. I just hope he learns a good lesson and wears sunscreen next time or at least only takes his shirt off for an hour or so.

Wish I could be there to help you babe! I hope you have a fabulous day and that your back is not bugging you too much that you don't go to the movies like you had planned! :) I am so proud of you and all you are doing for us. Hang in there!! I love you!!!!

(Funny that I write stuff on here like he will actually read it. ha ha)

Problem Solved!

You may remember a certain post a week or so ago where I expressed my frustration towards my Dr.'s office. Well I think I owe them an apology. :)

Today was my check up (18 weeks). I went in with the attitude that what ever happened (or didnt happen) would be fine. I went up to check in and they asked if I wanted to make my July payment. I said yes and she then finished my sentence and asked about the ultrasound. Why yes! I do want to pay for that. Then when they took us back (I gained less weight by the way!) and the nurse came in and said, "You don't have much longer to wait for your ultrasound!" I got nervous but said, "Well we paid up front to get one done today since Eric can't be here for the 20 week one." Her response, "Oh, well let me go grab the machine and get it ready!"

Easy as that. She was almost delighted to do it! My Dr. was so very kind and happy as well. I was so worried and worked up for nothing. Anyways, onto the part you might actually care about!

It was pretty obvious, although the little baby would NOT hold still AT ALL!! That it is a BOY!!!!!

She didn't want to say 100% but was pretty certain. We all thought it was very obvious that it is a boy. He seriously is a mover! We could not get a good shot. The pics turned out not too great cuz when she would get a good one, by the time she froze it, he had move. Makes me nervous for when he is bigger! It was neat to see him again. We are so excited. Eric is super excited which makes me more excited! She said everything looked great. My mom will go with me on the 29th to get the 3D ultrasound and make sure all is for sure well.

So there you have it! Yahoo!! We are having a little boy! I think in the next week or so I will get brave and start taking belly pics. I know you are dying to see them.

Lucky for him....

As I was having my daily lunch phone call from Eric, I was telling him I had been lucky the last 2 days to not have a headache but that today was making up for lost time. Wanna know what he said? "Well you really can't complain." Before jumping to conclusions, I asked, "Why not?" His response, "Because you have not had to deal with cramps for several months."

Let me get this right, since I have been so lucky to not have cramps for a few months, I am not allowed to complain (only slightly) about having a headache almost non stop for the last 2 1/2 months??!!! Lucky for him, I was in a good mood. Anyone who knows Eric very well knows he was totally kidding with the comment he made. He is very good at being a teaser, jokster, etc. He loves to get a rise out of people, especially me. Lucky for him, I was in a pretty good mood, even with the headache, and was able to laugh right along with him. Lucky for him, I am totally (almost) used to his antics. Lucky for him, I love him and miss him terribly when he is gone and this incident actually made me miss him even more. Lucky for me, he is mine, and I am SO lucky to have him!!

Dreams

So I have some pretty interesting dreams anyways, but wow. The last couple nights, after I have been up for a little bit and start to remember what I dreamt about, I just laugh. I don't know where these come from! I know you supposedly get extra crazy dreams when you are pregnant and I am having them! I read that I should write them down because it will be fun to remember them but I honestly don't even know where to being writing some of this nonsense down!

I have not had many "baby" dreams yet. I think I had more of those before I was pregnant. My sister has had a couple though. Anyways, my dreams make no sense at all. And even if they do make sense and have meaning, I think I would be scared to know what they meant. ha ha. Anyone else have insane dreams? At least they are funny and not scary or something!

Brenda, if you read this, do you remember how long you were taking the B2 before you noticed a difference in your headaches? I have been taking it for 3-4 days now. Just wondering. Thanks for that advice and hopefully it gets rid of them! I asked a nurse at my Dr.'s office and I don't know if they are against vitamins or something but she would not answer me. They told me to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen!! No thanks!

Just for Dylan

This post is dedicated to my youngest brother Dylan. His baseball team had their play off game this last week and guess what?! They won!!!! This makes 2 years in a row that he has been on the championship winning team. We have always enjoyed watching my little brothers play baseball and football. Here are some pics:

Just after the win.

A nice team pic......

Getting a little crazy.......

and kaboom! Dog pile!!!! I feel bad for the kid on bottom. One mom kept yelling, "Watch the cleats! Watch the cleats!" Could have been bad had someone gotten a cleat to the face!

This is Dylan being himself. That's why we love him. I think he gets sick of me and my camera! ha!

I told him to act excited that he just won and this is what I got.

Another attempt.

And finally, Sunday was his 14th birthday! 14!!! That is just craziness!!!!

Blowing out the candles.
Happy Birthday Dilly!!! ha ha. He was "bonus" as my mom prefers to say and we cannot imagine our family without him. He is a crack up and reminds us more and more of David each day. Can we handle 2 David's in one family?!! It think so!

I love the USA!!!!

So yesterday was a rough day. I am going to be honest. My head hurt (I was so sure when I woke up without a headache that I was going to get lucky.....), the A/C at work was broken which did not help the headache and also made me sick to my stomach ( I don't handle heat well normally let alone now), and I was just in a sad, missing Eric, wanting to cry kind of mood all day. (Okay, I am done whining!:)

Luckily, I had something to do that night that would put me in a much better mood and state of mind.

It was awesome!!! My mom and I went to this and we were not disappointed! It was almost 2 1/2 hours long and we enjoyed every minute of it. I love patriotic things and I love music so this was the perfect combination! I had not heard of Maureen McGovern but my mom had and was excited to hear her. For those of you who do not know, Craig Jessop is the director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. The night was filled with wonderful music from the choir, the orchestra, Maureen, local high school choirs, and a couple of talented singers from Utah. I got a little choked up a few times, laughed a few times and smiled a lot. It was wonderful and just what I needed. They are doing this program 2 more times. Tonight in Idaho Falls and tomorrow night in Sun Valley. For anyone that lives near, has nothing to do, I would highly recommend going.

I am VERY proud to be an American. I love my country, I love the flag, I love red, white and blue, and I love fireworks. This time of year is so much fun. My family is usually working at a food booth somewhere for the entire weekend so we don't get to to the normal fun things (camping, BBQing, swimming, etc.) but we still have a good time. My mom is very patriotic and I think I got that from her. I can remember her sharing her testimony about the church and about her love for her country numerous times.

I love and appreciate those who have served and are currently serving our country. I have so much respect for them and their families. I know I am so blessed to live in this country and to have the freedom and happiness that I have. I am so thankful for this time of year to remind me! I love the USA and I am so proud to be an American! How about you? :)

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

Onery?! Why yes I am! :)

Hopefully you can forgive me but I just really think typing this up will help me to feel better. ha ha. I hope I am right. If you don't have a decent amount of time, you may want to stop. I will understand. :)

I am just very irritated with my doctor's office. Let me start at the beginning. I made my 20 week ultrasound appointment quite a while ago. My thinking behind this was we could arrange it around Eric's schedule so he could be there. I was wrong. Apparently they only to "those" ultrasounds 2 days a week for a few hours each day (a lady just comes to the office for that amount of time just to do the 3D ultrasounds). Well that sucks but not much I can do about it. I was irritated that they are not more accommodating with something that is a pretty big deal in my opinion. I got over it and we just decided that I would go to the appointment, take a CD for them to put it on and I would not look when they looked to see what it was. This would SUCK but I didn't want to know before Eric and he didn't want me to find out without him. So my appointment is on a Wednesday and I would just put the CD away and forget about it (yeah right) until Eric could get home the next night. We didn't have much of a choice.

Then, a light came on in my brain! I have a regular appointment just a week and a half before the 3D ultrasound and it is on a Friday so Eric would be home. Surely my doctor could do just a regular old ultrasound, like she did at my first appointment, to tell us the sex of our baby. They would be more than happy to help me out with my dilemma and would totally understand and want to do what they could so that we could find out together, at the office. Right?! Well not really.

I called and talked to a nurse, explained my situation, and asked if that would be doable. "Well we really like you to wait until 20 weeks to make sure we can tell the sex." and "You would have to make sure your insurance would cover it or else you will have to pay out of pocket." and "Why don't you wait until after your 20 week appointment to find out." "If you talk to your insurance company and work it out, then we would be happy to do that for you." THANK YOU!!!

First off, I know of SEVERAL girls that find out a few weeks before 20 weeks so don't try to tell me you won't be able to see. Second, fine, if you want to charge me extra for a 15 minute ultrasound, whatever. We have a high deductible that we have to meet regardless so it can just go towards that. I have a separate HSA account that we pay medical bills out of anyways so it really will not even phase me to have to pay. Third, waiting until AFTER my 20 weeks appointment totally defeats the purpose. We would already know by then.

I talk to Eric, he says to go ahead and let them know we want to do it (after all, if I am willing to pay, they are "happy" to do it.) So I call back and talk to billing to find out how much it will be. $50. That is less than I was expecting so that is fabulous. She transfers me back to the front desk so that I can let them know to plan on doing the ultrasound when I come in. I explain to the receptionist. (I am pretty sure I have dealt with her before and she is even more onery then me. ALL THE TIME.)

"Dr. B doesn't have any openings that day." I tell her AGAIN, I already have an appointment and just need them to plan on doing the ultrasound that I discussed with the nurse. "Well your appointment is only for 15 minutes and that will need a 30 minute appointment." Oh okay. And people NEVER wait at the doctor's office. In fact, if I remember correctly, I waited an hour for my first ultrasound, only to have to leave and come back several hours later to get it done. They owe me. ha ha. She proceeds to tell me she will make a note that I want one but can't "make any promises". And "You do know you will have to pay for that up front. I believe it is $250." Well actually, yes, I know that and yes I will be prepared, but it is only $50 thank you very much.

Oh I am fired up at this point. What a witch! Her tone was so nasty too. Wouldn't you think to be the receptionist at this kind of an office, you would be kind, helpful, excited (or pretend to be) and try to act like you give a crap? Last I checked, I was forking out just a small amount of money to come to this office. I am pretty sure it will be okay when I actually go. My doctor is wonderful, her staff just needs some help. I am pretty sure she will be sympathetic of my situation and be glad to help. At least I hope. My plan is to make sure and pay as soon as I get there so if they try to tell me no, I can say, but I already paid for it. :)

Wow, I feel lots better. Anyone still with me? ha ha. If not, I totally understand. This was massive and full of negative thoughts and feelings :) But like I said, I feel lots better. Anyone else ever been frustrated with the way you were treated while pregnant? I hope I am not the only one and I hope this is the only time. (Well the last time since it happened once before.) Grr!
