7 months!

I am a little late on the 7 month post! Deegan was 7 months on the 13th. He is getting so fun!

He loves his new Leap Frog toy! It is so fun to watch him figure things out and figure out how they work.

Focus, focus.

He also really likes playing with his binki. He is getting really good at taking it out and putting it back in.

Here he is with his friend Jade. Cute kids! At least this time she didn't try to use his head as a soccer ball. ha ha. She is a crack up.

Here he is hanging out at Aunt Randi's birthday party. He had way too much ice cream and frosting this night. ha ha.

Some things about Deegan at 7 months!

* He weighs about 15 1/2 pounds.
* He is in size 2 diapers.
* He wears size 6 month clothes
* He sleeps from about 9-7 every night! And has been in his own bed for almost a month.
* He is SUCH a good boy. So happy.
* He loves to sit up and wants to be mobile SO bad.
* He is always reaching and leaning and grabbing at things. So curious!
* Doesn't like to be left in a room alone. Even if he sees you start to walk away he will let you know he doesn't like that. :)
* Still spits up quite a bit.
*He loves to talk and has the sweetest voice.
* He LOVES dogs! Our neighbor has an English Sheepdog (its huge!) and Deegan loves it! It is such a good dog! Moose is also very good with Deegan and likes to lick his face. :)
* He still loves to snuggle when he is getting ready for bed. I love this and hope it lasts a while!
* He loves his daddy! He will just look at Eric and light up in a huge grin! All the time!
*He loves you to smack your lips. Don't know why but he smiles almost every time we do it.
* He knows exactly what suckers are and will do anything to get one when he sees it. Its hilarious. I will have to get a video of it.
* He is loving his new babysitter and her family. And they love him! This makes us so happy!
*He is still as sweet and happy as ever and I often wonder how in the world we got so lucky!

We love this little boy so incredibly much!!

First Parade!

June 12th was Deegan's 1st parade! I was so excited that it was going to come right in front of our house. Let me just tell you that it was FREEZING! Yes, on June 12th!

We bundled him up in fuzzy jammies, a big cozy blanket and a warm winter hat and headed outside!

He was a happy kid!

He saw lots of neat things!

Old cars.....

Old tractors....

Old motorcycles.....

A semi?! ha ha

and lots of horses!! I took tons more pics but didn't think you needed a play by play of the parade. :) It really was a good parade. Pretty big for our little town!

Dad was the official candy picker upper. We didn't think we would get candy since we only had a baby and really didn't need any......

But we got a lot! Cereal, candy and toothbrushes! ha ha. Not bad for his first parade. Too bad his parents ate all the candy and didn't even share. Rude.

Summer Attire

Since my little guy is so good at spitting up, I have decided that this will be his summer attire.

As long as we are home, and it is warm,

this happy little guy will be sporting the diaper look.

And perhaps a cute onesis from time to time.

He seems to be fine with the idea.

Then we won't have to exhaust ourselves with extra laundry.

(Yes he sleeps in the craziest positions. And yes, he really is this happy most all of the time!)

What a big boy!

Deegan has finally upgraded from his bumbo to his big boy high chair! :) We still love the bumbo though!

He looks so big in it!

Looks like he likes it! He gets kind lazy in it and often ends up laying his head down on the side of it while he eats. ha ha.

In other big news, Deegan is now sleeping in his crib!

Here he is on his first night.

And just a few minutes later......

He is really such a crazy sleeper! We find him in the funniest positions!
I am not going to lie, the first few nights were rough. He slept decent but woke up a couple times just wanting his binki or I would wake up and hear him make a noise and feel the need to get up and check on him, yada yada yada. So I didn't sleep too great for the first week or so. But we are right back on track now.

He is such a great sleeper! For the most part we can lay him down and he falls to sleep in just a few minutes. But it is still fun to just hold him and rock him too of course! He loves to snuggle when he is sleepy and will just look up at you and play with your face for a while and then he will snuggle his face in and he is out! Oh I love to snuggle him!

2 catch up posts down, and 4 to go! I think.....

A perfectly lovely Saturday

This is the beginning of my "Catch Up" blogging. I have a lot to post so no more time wasting....

Just a warning that this post could get long! It is mainly for me to remember this wonderful day and all the stories I heard. I would love for you to read on but understand if you don't. :) There are some funny stories, and some sad stories. All are about my family, so I loved hearing them. On with the post!

Every year on Memorial weekend, my mom drives my grandparents to Star Valley, WY to visit the graves of loved ones. Sometimes they stay overnight, sometimes not. This year was going to be a day trip so my mom asked if me and Deegan wanted to tag along. I have not been in a couple years and have not visited any of the cemeteries in even longer. So me and Deegan said we would love to go!

We took off about 9 am. It was rainy a lot of the way, of course. Our first stop was the Freedom cemetery. It was so windy and FREEZING! Deegan stayed in the car to keep warm.

Here we visited, and placed flowers on the graves of 3 of my grandpa's siblings, his parents and his cousin I believe. She was 2 years old and died after eating chokecherries and drinking milk. I guess that can cause a poisonous reaction and it did for her. Crazy! My grandpa's mother lost the babies of her last 3 pregnancies. This was due to the RH factor. Crazy to think that I have that and what a difference a little shot can make. I cannot imagine carrying 3 babies (in a row!) to term only to loose them such a short time after. I also learned, or was reminded, about my grandmas 3 brothers. Her mom lost her first 3 pregnancies. My grandma got very emotional talking about them and how she had no idea where 2 of them were even buried. That was something her mother never wanted to talk about.

Our next stop was the Cheese Factory for lunch! It has changed a lot but was still good food! Deegan entertained the people in the booth behind us. They just loved him! I bought a huckleberry sucker for the road and then we then headed to the Bedford cemetery.

Here we visited the graves of my mom's cousin who was killed in a car accident when she was 17. Also at the Bedford cemetery are my grandma's parents and her brother and several other extended family members. It was also freezing so Deegan stayed in the car once again!

After this we drove all around the beautiful valley! We took back roads and it was such a pretty drive! I love Star Valley and if it weren't for the awful winters I would really love to live there! Our next and final stop was to visit one of my grandparents best friends. She is 90 years old I believe and has been through so much the last few years. It is amazing she is still here! She absolutely adored Deegan and he was, of course, all smiles for her. She just sat and watched him and talked to him. She wanted to hold him so bad but didn't dare. Finally when we were getting close to leaving she couldn't resist anymore and promised she would hold him tight on her chest if she could hold him. I think he honestly made her day and probably even more. It was so wonderful for me to see him bring her so much joy and happiness.

Then we were off! Back in the car and heading for home. I conked out in the back seat most of the way. About an hour or so from home Deegan got a little restless. I had a great idea! Remember that sucker?

He loved it! I soon learned it was not such a great idea. He would get mad when I took it away. So I would give it back for a bit........

He could see it coming and wanted to assist me in getting it to his mouth faster! ha ha

He was a sticky mess but we got him all cleaned up! He was such a great boy on this perfectly, lovely, Saturday! It was such a nice day with my mom and grandparents and I am so happy we were able to go!

A few more!

After a little confusion with the Post Office, my CD finally came!! Here are a few others for your enjoyment! Not only did she give me 25 edited pics, she edited each of them multiple ways. Now I will never be able to decide!

#19
Cute little face!

#20

He has had strong little legs since he was tiny!! He just needs balance and he could do it. Not that I am in a hurry!
#21

These pics are slightly different besides the finishes, but which one hides the spit up on his shirt better? Or is it the same. ha ha.
#22

I really like this one. The angle, where he is looking, his hand spread open, his toes, it just shows so much I think!

What about these ones? Any favs?
