7 months & some randoms.....

I am a little slow at posting this but October 19th marked 7 months!! And today is 32 weeks. Crazy. I hope it keeps going by fast. I am so ready!!!

Here I am at 7 months.....things have definitely been changing. Swelling has gotten worse. I took some pics of my ankles and feet but those will stay for my own remembrance. ha ha. Kinda scary and gross. I found some comfy shoes that fit so I bought a pair in black and brown so hopefully I will be set! My hip "area" has gotten more and more sore and hurty but I know that is to be expected. When I get up from sitting for a while or from sleeping, I feel like I am 90! And worst of all, I have started getting crazy pain and burning on the skin at the top of my tummy. It is not always constant but man oh man it hurts!! Any suggestions on what I can do to help it? I have put away an bras with underwire and that seems to have helped. Last night I was woken up at 4:30 and didn't go back to bed til 5:45 because it hurt so bad. No fun! As of my last appointment I had gained about 29 pounds. oops! ha ha. As long as my Dr. tells me "weight looks good" I am not going to worry.....

My ward had out "Soup"er Saturday last weekend and we made some fun things!!

This is Deegan's Nativity. It is so cute and since it is wooden, he can play with it and throw it around to his hearts content! My mom made the pumpkins and candy cane for me since I was making like 5 sets of these things!

Cute, right?! I love craft days for enrichment!

And lastly, here is the soon to be changing table/dresser for Deegan's room. I know it looks like a hunk of junk right now but Eric is going to make it look fabulous! If it werent for the stupid deer hunt, it would already be done! Oh well. :)

Me and my sis and my mom if we can talk her into it, are going shopping by SLC today and I am hoping to get all I need for Deegan's mobile. Wish me luck!! I have a few other items I hope to cross of my list but if I can get that done, I will be thrilled!! Pictures to come if it works out!

What a spoiled little boy!

Since THIS is what Eric has been driving............

And we didn't really think it would be safe to put a car seat in this and there is NO WAY all 3 of us would fit in it, we decided it was time for an upgrade!

We picked this little beauty up last week and so far love it! It is just a 2000 but we didn't want to go overboard and this is a HUGE improvement from the '86 Toyota. It is very clean, low miles for the year, leather and oh so comfy! It will be so nice to have a safer, newer truck to haul Deegan around in. So here it is! Deegan's first truck. Just don't tell Eric, he thinks it is his!

And if anyone knows of anyone looking for a great little truck, we happen to be selling the Toyota. It really is a great truck, just doesn't fit our needs anymore!

Deegan's Shower!

Yesterday was Deegan's baby shower. We just did one, grande one. It was at my house which I know people don't usually do, but it was actually nice. No loading up the car and then having to unload it again and haul everything in! the only down side was the cleaning before and after. (I have not done all the after!:)

Here is my lovely sister Courtney posing with the food. My mom, sister, Eric's mom and our sister in law Chelsie put it on for me. The decorations were so cute and the food was amazing! My mom did all the food and we had Oreintal Chicken Salad, mini cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, Pumpkin Cheesecake, and apricot punch (it was SO Yummy!). Suzy and Chelsie did the decorations. Thanks for all your work!!

I was SO excited when I saw this. I had no idea! It was the hit of the party and everyone was shocked when I told them my 14 year old brother and my dad did it! I was way impressed!! Nice work boys!

If anyone wants to hire them, I can get you their info. ha ha.

They started it late on Friday and I guess didn't finish until 3 am!! I love it. Sorry Dylan, I am not going to leave it put together until Deegan can appreciate it. He will just have to see the pics! ha ha

And here is the final result! There is a lot of stuff that is buried. I just about have the table cleared off. One day I really need to get his closet organized!

Hockey Anyone?

On Friday the Utah Grizzly's came and played a game at he Eccles Ice Center in Logan. We went with Eric's family (his parents, Steven & Chelsie and Kaden) and had a good time!

Eric and Kaden. Kaden sat by us for the first half of the game and he was bouncing (literally!!) all over the place! He has so much energy! He is such a cute boy though!

We played the Idaho Steelheads and unfortunatly they won 4-3. I had not been to a hockey game since I was a lot younger and went to one in Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center. It was a lot of fun!

Me and Eric. We thought it would be fun to have Deegan try to play hockey when he gets older. Deegan either loves or hates hockey. He was not very nice to his mom this night. ha ha. It is getting to the point where it gets a little hard to breath sometimes. Its okay, I forgive you. :) We had a fun night out!

I sure do love a good cause!

I am sure many of you in the valley have heard of Taylie Abbott, an amazing, adorable, little girl that is fighting cancer. I have checked her blog many times. You can read about her HERE! Today I came across a lady that is taking matters into her own hands to help this family that she doesn't even know. How cool is that?! Go HERE to read more on what she is doing and how you can help! It is no cost out of your pocket and is a great cause! You don't even have to live in the valley to help! Swine Flu Prevention

I got this as an email and I really liked it so I am putting it on here! It makes sense to me! I thought this would be really good for those of us not getting the vaccine, unsure if we are getting the vaccine or whatever! :)

Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist)
having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in
institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital ,
Tata Memorial etc. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine
Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical
Centre, Malad (W).

The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of sense and is
important for all to know

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global
epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into
contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not
so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1
infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and
development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully
highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of
focusing on how to sto ck N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official
communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any
part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't
trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/
nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple
gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has
the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected
one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful
preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with
warm salt water . *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti
(very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose
hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in
warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*


5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C
(Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C
tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can.
*Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the
reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat
into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

I suggest you pass this on to your entire e-list. You never know who
might pay attention to it -- and STAY ALIVE because of it.

My little idea for Deegan's room turned out to be WAY too girly. I was a little worried about that. But I still had fun making one! If anyone else is interested, here is what I made. They are so fun for a little girls room or for fun decor. And so cheap and easy too! Hey, if I can do it, anyone can!

29 weeks!

Ta da!!

Eric kindly hung the valance up for me. And guess how long it took him? Less than 5 minutes! I tried for like 30 and finally go too frustrated. Guess that is why I keep him around! :) Oh and for those of you wondering, the bedding came from Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot and our crib, believe it or not, came from walmart.com.

I know you just saw preggo pics of me but I am trying to get back on track of taking a pic when I hit a new week. Today is week 29!

Not much has changed with me since my last belly post. But I do have a pretty fun idea I am going to try out tomorrow for Deegan's room. If it turns out it will be a pretty fun piece in his nursery and will take the place of a mobile. I will post pics if it works out and when it is done. I wanna try to have it done before the shower this coming weekend so if you are coming, maybe you can see it!

Well, this is my second post for the day and I am still tired from going to bed at almost 4 am this morning so I think I will call it a night!

Oh What a Night!

(Warning, this is very long! It was quite the night and I wanted to get it all written down!:)

Yesterday we had the chance to go to Provo for the USU vs BYU game. My cousin and his wife and little boy live there and my aunt and uncle from Vegas were coming for the weekend and got us all tickets. We knew we would be cutting it close to get there by seven but we we headed out anyways. My family left earlier in the day to run some errands but Eric and I left later because we had to work. So we got in our car at 3:30 and after a couple quick stops, we were on the road by 4. We figured it would take us about 2 1/2 hours, maybe a little longer depending on traffic. HA!

At least we had pretty views while we were driving. These clouds looked so cool. The pic didn't really turn out that great. So let's see, on with the night! We made it to about Kaysville and that is when the trouble started. We basically didn't go above 30 mph from Kaysville to the BYU Stadium and I am NOT exageratting!! We sat in silence much of the way because we were both so irritated and frustrated. ha ha. I could not beleive it!! So from the time we left our house, until the time we got to our seats (an hour late!) it was a 4 1/2 hour trip! And the fun doesn't stop there!

Since it was basically half time when we got there, here are some pics of the marching band. I thought the different arrangements they did were pretty cool. This one is a couger head if you can't tell.

We were quite far up, it was a decent hike for me to get up ALL those stairs. My heart was racing and my legs were burning. ha ha. It was good for me I am sure. We were pretty much surrounded by BYU fans. I had a bright pink sweatshirt with a BIG BLUE A on the front of it. Good thing no one threw anything at me. I was the only A in a sea of Y's. ha ha.

Court, me, Eric. Poor Eric didn't get to watch too much of the game. He left to go buy some peanuts and I had him buy a program for a guy at work that wanted one. Well I guess he had to walk clear around the stadium (Almost) to find one. He was gone a long time and missed some scoring. And since we were an hour late to start with, he didn't get to watch much. Sorry babe!

The Aggies are SO close to scoring!

Can they pull it off?????

Nope! Not this time. Even though I pretty much knew BYU would win, I thought it would have been awesome if the Aggies could have won. At least they are improving!! :) the final score was 35-17 I believe.

We decided to leave a few minutes before the game was over so that we would not have a hard time getting out. Well half of our group decided to stay. Bad idea. Eric was rushing me along to "hurry up" to the car. Well that is easier said then done. I really needed a bathroom and walking fast was not helping! TMI? Sorry. My little legs were going as fast as they could, I was holding my stomach and trying to hurry. ha. Hurrying turned out to do us no good. We didn't have too hard of a time getting on the freeway, but we were all meeting at Ihop in American Fork. we got there at 10:45 pm and my cousins were already there. We sat down and waited for the rest of our group.

And waited and waited and waited. We had good company but still! The rest of our group showed up about 11:45!! An hour later! We SO should have just ordered and ate without them but we were too nice. So we finally all ordered and our waiter started bringing out ALL of the food. We were a big group so it was a little complicated I guess. He just started dropping plates of food in front of everyone and you would look at it trying to remember what you ordered and this was NOT it! He set a plate of food in front of Eric and it was similar to what Eric ordered so he started eating the bacon. Well I looked at it and said, "that's not yours". Oops, so he set the bacon down, the waiter picked up the plate to give it to the right person and Eric said "Well I already took a bite of that bacon" so instead of leaving it, throwing it, letting Eric pick it up, ANYTHING, what do you think the waiter did? He picked it up with his bare hand and started to hand it to Eric! We all kind of froze and just looked at him in disbelief. I think that is when he realized he shouldn't have touched the food. Poor guy!

After he left to get the next round of plates, I lost it. I was exhausted and just burts into tears and laughter thinking about the bacon. This made my mom and sister do the same. If you don't know us girls, we do that alot. Usually it is my mom and sis that are "cry laughing" but I was the worst one last night! I finally regained composure and he came back with more food. He dropped a plate in front of me and it was NOT what I had ordered. I did my best to hold it in but that made it worse when the laughter and tears exploded out! I quickly covered my face and apparently my uncle said "What 's wrong with Brooke? What did someone say? You don't say offensive things to a pregnant woman! Is she okay? Is she sick?" ha ha. Or at least all those things were running through his mind. My dad explained to him that nothing was wrong and I was, in fact, laughing. I think our table was a little embarrased by all the shinanigans. My sister got the wrong food as well. People had part of the right order but then part of someone else's.......my mom didn't even have an order......ha ha ha. What a mess!!

We finally got everything squared away enough. We pretty much didn't care at that point and were just glad to have food, no matter what it was! My family just has bad luck with Ihop. We refuse to go to the one in Logan for this reason. Apparently it is not just our local one.

So we finished eating and it was 1:15 am!! Yes we had been at Ihop for 2 1/2 hours! Eric and I quickly went to the car and started towards home. Not long after that our gas light came on. The last thing we needed to add to the night was to run out of gas on the freeway at 1:30 in the morning! I don't know what it was, but the area of the freeway we were on, had NO gas stations. I think we made it to Bountiful area and exited and got some gas. Eric had been yawning and rubbing his face to stay awake so I told him I would switch for a bit so he could fall asleep.

He zonked out and I did my best to last as long as I could. I was getting VERY drowsy and started to do a couple LONG blinks. I decided this was no good and woke Eric up to at least talk to me. He had slept for about 1/2 an hour and said he was good to go. So we pulled of the Exit by Smith and Edwards and made the switch again. After Eric assured me he was wide awake, it was my turn to sleep. Oh it was nice!! Needless to say, we pulled in our driveway at 3:30 am!!
OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!

We went right in and straight to sleep! And guess what time we got up? 11:45 am! We totally didn not mean to but I guess we were a little tired!!

If you were to ask me if driving 4 hours oneway to get to the game was worth it. I would probably say no. But if you ask me if driving 4 hours for the memories we got last night were worth it, I would say YES! It was great to see our family and spend time together. And since we made it home safely, all is well! Thanks Tribett's!!!
