Tag-I'm it!

So I went from not being tagged in a long time to getting 2 in a row! Sheesh. So here is the first one:

My cousin tagged me to list my 5 favorite things. I am going to take the same route she did and say that obviously my hubby, family, friends and all that important stuff is for sure at the top of my list and tell you some that you may not already know.

1. Shopping!!! Surprising, I know. I love it. Even if I am just browsing (not as fun as buying) it is fun to me. I like to go alone but often need a second opinion. I am always looking for the best deal. I am one of the crazy people that drive to or call several stores or shop several websites to make sure I am getting the best deal. Yes, I know that I am wasting more time and gas then it is probably worth but I don't care. It is satisfying to me. It does, however, drive my husband crazy.

2. This goes along with number one, Kathy Van Zeeland handbags!!! LOVE THEM!! They are pretty reasonably priced and are so fun! There are some pretty hideous ones that I would never even consider buying but most are so unique, fun and slightly extreme that I love them. She is also very good and putting lots of pockets in most of her bags and I LOVE pockets in my handbag. If you have never seen any, you should. TJ Maxx and Ross are usually great places to find them at a discount.

3. Chick Flicks/Romantic Comedies (basically the same thing). They all pretty much have some what of the same story line and you can usually predict the ending but they make me so happy! Luckily I have a great hubby who will usually watch these with me. That makes it even better.

4. DVR!!!! Oh how did I ever live without you? Seriously though. I love this invention. I just record my shows and watch them whenever I want, commercial free. Genius!

5. Last but not least, my home! I love my home and love being home. I am very much a home body. Don't get me wrong, I still love to go out and everything but I am usually perfectly content hanging out at home with Eric and Kai. Watching TV, movies, playing Rock Band, cooking dinner whatever. It is so relaxing and comfy and I love it! If I am home, I am usually happy!

Choosing only 5 was actually hard. I have lots and lots to be thankful for. This list is just some of the fun things I love. Now, I tag.......Chelsie, Melissa, Ashlee Shepherd, Britanee W., and...........Ami!!!! (DO IT!!) :)

Kambree & Me

A couple Sunday's ago while we were out in Paradise, my niece Kambree wanted to go outside to play. So I took her out. She is hilarious and so much fun. Here are a few pics.
Kambree and Brooke (And Kai:)

She was getting bored but didn't want to go inside so I told her to go walk out on the snow to the tree so I could take her picture. And she did....

She got snow stuck on her glove and this is her trying to get Harley to lick it off. Ha ha. It was so funny. It really was a good idea but Harley was not cooperating.

I just love this cute girl!
She was having such a good time but I was ready to go in and warm up. Every time I asked her if she wanted to go in I got the same answer. No. Hmm... So I had to get creative. She found a pretty sweet stick and was playing with it so I sad "Let's go in and show Kaden your cool stick!" That did the trick. Does that make me a bad aunt? :) I hope not.

She is such a goof ball! She loves her binkies and usually has to have 2 of them. One in her mouth and one in her hand. She thinks it is pretty funny when she does this little trick. And of course we do too. I am glad I don't have the task of taking the binkies away. That is going to be an ugly day! (Or week....)

Kaden and Kambree are such great kids. We are glad we get to see them and spend time with them. Kambree is a crack up and has such a fun personality. Love you guys!

Happy Anniversary!

So today marks our 4th anniversary. Wow! I started thinking that I don't know if I have ever written down our story so guess what?! Here it is! It could get pretty long but feel free to read on! I just wanted to have it recorded somewhere.

Let's go back in time about 7 years. I was a senior in high school. My parents were out of town and I decided to not go to school that day. That night I was at my work Christmas party and we were doing a White Elephant gift exchange. My "gift" happened to be a very clever letter written by one of my co-workers that was my same age. He was asking me to the Christmas Ball at Logan High. I was kind of on the spot and couldn't think of a reason not to go so I just said yes. That night when I got home, I called my friend Melissa and told her that I was going to Logan's Christmas Ball, which happened to be the same night as Mountain Crest's Senior Ball. She instantly said "No! Brooke you can't go!" I asked her why and she continued to tell me that had I gone to school that day, I would have been asked to my Senior Ball by a kid named Eric. I had no idea who he was. A few of my friends had classes with him and she just kept talking him up. He had asked her about me and said he wanted to take me to the dance and she agreed that it was a good idea. I was a little torn. I had already said yes to a kid that I actually knew but on the other hand, I had a chance to go to Senior Ball at my own school with someone I had never met or really even seen. She was very persistent and basically made my mind up for me. He was going to ask me the next day at school so I HAD to go. Okay then. I guess that was my decision. I had to call the other kid up and tell him I had also been asked to my own school's dance and it was on the same day. It was very hard and I am pretty sure I cried (ha ha!!) but I got it done. To make this part of the story short, he asked me the next day by having me paged to the office. Waiting for me was a rose and a bag of gummy frogs with letters on a few of them spelling out his name. There was also a cute little card with it. I honestly can't remember how I answered him (maybe I should see if he remembers!) It was a little awkward at first since we didn't know eachother but the date was amazing!

**In a sweet tree on Catalina Island**

He picked me up and we met some of his other friends and went snowmobiling. I pretty much had never been on one and he wanted me to drive ( is that what you call it?) I didn't think it was such a good idea but he said to just try. Okay, If you say so.......I pushed on the throttle and wasn't aware that he wasn't prepared and I pretty much threw him off the back. I think that was enough for him to realize me driving wasn't such a good idea. So I got to ride on back with him. That was all part of my plan. :) Not really but it was fun. When we got to the top of wherever we were going, the boys had hot chocolate ready for us. It was so much fun. That night he picked me up and I had to have my mom put the flower thing (I have no idea how to spell it!) on him because I couldn't figure it out. ha ha. My dress was perfect! My mom brought it home from vegas and although it was a little smashing in the bust area :) I loved it! We went to dinner and then to the dance. I know this will sound cheesy but it seriously was the best night ever. It really didn't feel like we were on our first date. He was so sweet and we had a great time and there was no awkwardness at all! After the dance we went to his friends house and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas. We snuggled (aww!) on the couch and he pretty much fell asleep instantly. After the movie he went out and started his truck so that it would be nice and toasty for me and he took me home.

*Ensenada, Mexico--Blow Hole*

My loving parents had locked me out so we had to go in through the garage. Now for anyone that doesn't know my parents, they do not park in the garage. It is instead a storage unit for anything and everything! So we risked our lives by trying to find our way through there in the dark but some how managed to make it to the door. This normally would have been a very awkward moment but I was not nervous at all. We talked for a second and said we needed to hang out again. I was brave and went in for a little kiss. :) It was the perfect night! I was on cloud nine and had a hard time sleeping that night. We hung out a couple times that next week and then made it official on December 22, 2001 :)

We had a lot of ups and downs during the three years we dated. We were pretty young when we first started dating (16 & 17) so that makes sense. We had so much fun and ONLY broke up 3 times. ha ha. It was never because we had a fight or anything, just thought we should date other people. We did a few times and mine were miserable. It was not that the guys were not good guys but I just compared them to Eric and thought about him the entire time. Our break ups never lasted long and even when we were, we still talked and even hung out so basically we were always together.

On September 11, 2004, we went on a horse ride with Brady. We had done this before so it was not totally out of the ordinary. I had a slight idea something was going to happen because he was very insistent that I went and that we went that day. We rode up to the perfect spot (I am sure many of you have been there) up the little canyon in Paradise. It over looks the entire valley and is beautiful! Eric had gone up before and had roses up there for me and as we were looking at the amazing view (Brady had conveniently rode off) Eric got done on one knee and proposed. I of course said YES! and I remember he said Really? Was he expecting a different answer??! :) The ring was perfect, exactly what I wanted. I am pretty sure we both had perma-grins on for the rest of the day.
*Not the greatest pic....

We were married on January 22, 2005 (3 years and one month to the date) in the Logan temple. It was a bitter, freezing day but I would not have had it any different. The pictures were beautiful and it looked like we were in a winter wonderland. If I can figure how to get some of our wedding pics on here I will but I have no idea how to. Our reception went perfect. We left the next day for our cruise.

**This guy was a little crazy but very cool looking. He was a performer in Ensenada. By the way, you have to pay if you want toilet paper here. ha ha!

4 years later here we are! I am married to my best friend and we have the most amazing life together. I cannot believe all we have accomplished and been through together in the 4 years of marriage and 7 years of knowing each other. It has been amazing thus far and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us. Eric has truly made me a better person and in my wildest dreams I could not have found someone better or more perfect for me. We have so much fun together and although our marriage is not perfect by any means, it is close enough for me!

I love you so much Eric and am so lucky to have you. You continue to amaze and surprise me and I love it! I cannot imagine life without you and cannot thank Melissa enough for "making" me go to that dance. Saying yes was the best decision I ever made. He knows me so well and can almost read my mind a lot of the time. Especially when something is wrong. He takes such great care of me.

There you have it! I don't know if anyone has made it this far but if so, thanks for reading "Our Story". I obviously condensed it but it is a very special story to me. We had the odds stacked against us but we pulled through. I am so glad we did! I have so many great memories with this guy and wouldn't change anything that happened along the way because it made us who we are. I don't feel like this post does it justice but you get the idea :)

Happy Anniversary Eric!!! Can't wait for many more!

**These are just a few pictures from our honeymoon. I don't have any of our wedding pics on a disc right now :(

Must....Get....Sleep....

So as an early anniversary gift, we finally bought ourselves Rock Band 2. What a great choice. We had previously bought Guitar Hero (Just the guitar and the game) but the guitar seemed crappy (the buttons were sticking) and I didn't really like it compared to Rock Band. So we took it back and paid the difference for Rock Band 2. We have had so much fun playing it together. It really is a great family investment :)

The only problem is we have been playing every night! Late! Maybe not late for some of you but I prefer to be in bed by 10:30 and lately that has not been happening. I know it is my own fault. I could easily put down the drum sticks and go to bed. Trust me, it is easier said then done. When you learn that you can win a tour bus or a plane, you HAVE to continue! We were even able to play online with some of our friends that also have it. Technology is a crazy thing if you ask me!

I know this little addiction is maybe slightly lame, but I don't care. :) We have been spending some quality time together and having lots of fun. Who cares if I have to drag myself out of bed even more so then normal, and that my contacts hurt my eyes because they are lacking sleep, or that by the time I get to work I need a Diet Coke to get me going? My goal is to be able to rock the drums like our friend Melissa. (I have a LONG way to go!:) Anyways, anyone considering purchasing this, I would highly recommend it. This is just my personal opinion, but I think Rock Band is better than Guitar Hero World Tour. Hope I didn't offend anyone. ha ha

Roadies

On Saturday Michelle, Jevan, Brady and Jenna went with us down to Ogden to eat at Texas Roadhouse. For anyone that has never been, you should go. It is our favorite. Rumor has it we are getting one in Logan by the mall and we are excited. When we were about 20 minutes away, I called to get on the call ahead list and good thing I did! The wait was an hour and 40 minutes. I guess a lot of other people like it too. Lucky for us, we are smart thinkers and went to Target to kill some time. You gotta love Target! Dinner was delicious, the company was great and we had a fun night! Thanks for going with us guys! Here are a couple pics.....

Time Flies & The Bachelor!

Yes it does! Yesterday marked 10 months since my brother left on his mission. He is almost half way through. That is crazy! He is doing so good and is loving it. We are still trying to talk him into letting us come pick him up when he is done. He is being a party pooper on that subject.

Another way time is flying is my wonderful marriage! The 22nd will be our 4th anniversary. (Look for an extra special post that day) December 15th was 7 years since we met and I have loved everyday of it! Well, almost. :) I have almost been at my job 3 years which means another week of vacation for me! Yipee! It really is pretty crazy how fast time goes by when you think about it. I guess it is good but kind of sad at the same time. Before you know it, the kids I don't even have yet will be all grown up! :( I do love my life and wouldn't have it any other way!

On another note, who out there watches The Bachelor? I know a couple of you for sure do. I would like to hear everyone's reactions and opinions on who he sends home each week. Deal? I was mostly okay with this week. I didn't really care for either of the girls that left but I was REALLY hoping Erica would go home. I just don't like her. She is kind of manly and just rude. After this week, I also really don't like Molly. Anyone that watched last night probably knows why. Crazy stalker Shannon is creepy and should be sent home. He is probably scared to send her home for fear of what she might do. ha ha I know you really care, so here are my favs:

Stephanie, Jillian, Nikki, Melissa and sort of Naomi although she seems immature to me.

There you have it! Tell me your predictions, loves, hates whatever! Have a great day.

Hmmm.....

Just so everyone knows, I am aware that my playlist is still playing Christmas music :) I have tried logging into my account to switch it but the website is being weird and won't let me. Anywho, I will try it on a different computer so just enjoy until then. Or turn off your speakers if you don't like it :)

Go me!

Well I must say that I had a VERY productive Saturday. Who cares if I stayed in my PJ's until about 4? PM that is. Not me! I got my floors swept and mopped (thanks to my handy, dandy Hoover Floormate!), all my Christmas decor taken down (and yes that includes my tree!), and I got all redecorated for winter. I am not totally in love with all of my arrangements but they will do for now. Did I mention that I also got my computer/office/craft/scrapbook/catch all room totally de-junked and cleaned AND got our spare bedroom all cleaned up and rearranged and ready for guests! Well, almost. Now all we need are some more pillows and some blinds on the windows. (And of course some cute decorations. That will come in time....) But if anyone needs a place to stay for a visit, you are more than welcome. We will even hang a sheet over the window for you! We are most accommodating. :)

After my eventful day, I was ready for a nap. No such luck. I took a shower and (finally) got dressed and ready for the day. Then I made a delicious and nutritious dinner of chicken nuggets and tator tots (hello people, I just basically cleaned my house top to bottom. No way was I cooking an actual meal!) and then it was off to Eric's parents for a funfilled, eveing of Bunko (Bunco?) with his fam, my fam and a few friends. We do it every year between Christmas and New Year's. It gets a little rowdy and we eat a bunch of junk but in my book New Years resolutions (or goals as I like to call them) don't start until you have to go back to work. So I ate whatever I wanted!

Although most of the time off was lazy, I felt good about it since I was so productive on Saturday. Nothing like some good old procastination to motivate you! Hope you all had a marvelous break or that you at least got a break! I am so very excited to start this new year. It is going to be a good one! I can feel it! I do have some New Year's goals. Some just for me and some for me and Eric. Both physical and spritual. I (we) can do it! I wish all of you the best of luck in being successful with yours as well. Last New Years I called and cancelled my gym membership since I was not using it. Not how most people start theirs out but saving money was more important that year :)

I really did not intend on this turning into such a novel so if anyone made it this far, I just want to thank all of you for your friendship! Life is wonderful right now and we couldn't be happier. We hope this new year finds you all well and with great aspirations for the upcoming months! Align Center
Happy New Year!!

Do I really have to?

I know I am lame and never did a Christmas post or a New Year's post but oh well. I did take pictures though. We had a great holiday and have been enjoying lots of time off to spend with each other and our family. You would think that since I had a four day weekend last week and another one this week that all my Christmas decor would be put away. Right?! Nope! I have been trying to convince Eric that our tree looks good enough to stay up til Summer. He doesn't seem to agree. I just cannot motivate myself to take it all down, try to pack it back in the boxes and then redecorate with Winter decor. Maybe if I had more Winter decor I would be excited but since I am pretty sure my house is going to look empty with Christmas packed up, I have been dragging. I did go out and buy a few things yesterday and today thanks to great clearance sales at TJ Maxx and Michael's so if Eric is lucky, maybe I will be more productive tomorrow......It just makes me so sad that Christmas came and went so fast. I hope I am not the only one with my tree still up and red and green decorations all over my house. I will get there eventually. I hope......
