Just Because....

Deegan has not been in the last couple posts and there is something seriously wrong with that! haha. So here is one just for him. And like I said, I check my own blog a lot at work just so I can see him. :) So here are some pics from today. I ordered him a bunch of new 3 month outfits and they came the other day. I got 10 carters outfits and my total was like $35! He is getting so big!

I just wanna eat him up!

He likes to take naps in his car seat. He sleeps really well in it.

He is such a sweet sweet boy! I can't even begin to describe how much I love this kid. I am sure you guys all understand. :)

So there is your Deegan fix. Until next time!

A wonderful weekend!

Our anniversary weekend started out a little rocky. We dropped Deegan off at Eric's parents and headed towards the canyon. It was VERY snowy so we decided to drive Eric's truck so we would have 4WD. Good idea!! As we were getting ready to turn onto the highway and head into Sardine Canyon, there was a car coming out of the canyon turning right on the road we were on. Needless to say, he was going WAY to fast for the weather and started sliding. Eric tried to get out of the way but no luck. He smashed right into us! I have never been in an accident that I could see coming and couldn't do anything to stop it. Kind of weird. This was also Eric's first car accident. He was mad because his truck got hit, I was mad because we would now not make our reservations in SLC. ha ha. I was just glad we had already dropped Deegan off! The cops took forever to come but I am sure they were pretty busy since the weather was so bad. I was not going to let this ruin our weekend. I called Tucanos and luckily they could push our reservations back an hour. So we got everything taken care of and were on our way about an hour later. We were starving!

The damage. It hit the bed and part of the cab pretty good. After he hit us, it pushed us quite a bit!

He also chipped our rim. The estimated damage is $4400!

Here is what the canyon looked like. Luckily the weather greatly improved once we got out of the canyon. I15 was clear!

We made it to Tucanos and had a great time. It was so yummy! They have the most amazing salad bar!! Not a flattering pic. ha ha. I started to get emotional part way through dinner but was holding it together until Eric's mom sent me a picture message of Deegan that said "I love you mommy!". I started to cry. ha ha. Only a tiny bit though and then I was good! What can I say, I missed him. He was in great hands though!

After dinner we went to our hotel, Little America. It brought back lots of memories from my childhood. We stayed there several times with my grandma! It was very nice. We were deciding if we wanted to go swimming or watch a movie, (you could pay extra to watch a movie that is still in theaters, in your room. I thought it was cool.) So I put on a swimsuit and that decided it. We stayed in and watched a movie. ha ha.

In the morning we got up and went shopping at the Gateway. We got some sweet deals! Eric found a coat he liked at Urban Outfitters but it was $100. We decided it is only our 5th anniversary once so why not. To our surprise it rang up as $60! Sweet! I looked at a few places for an outfit for Deegan's 3 month pics but no luck! I desperatly needed some jeans. Mine are still a little tight. I didn't want to spend a lot since I plan (we will see how it goes!) to loose more weight in the coming months. So we went into Wet Seal and they had a rack of jeans of $10! I found 3 pairs that I liked. Another great steal! Our last stop was the Roxy/Quicksliver store. Eric wanted to go in so I figured I might as well. I found a cute jacket that was $80 half off. I was debating if I really wanted it or not when the sales lady came and said, "Just so you know, everything that is marked 50% off is an extra 50% off." SWEET!!! So we both looked and I got 3 jacket/coats and a shirt and Eric got 2 windbreakers and a zip up hoodie and our total was like $120! We saved over $200! I was pretty excited about it.

Then we decided we better leave the Gateway before we did more damage. We stopped at Babies R Us to get Deegan some new bottles and to look for an outfit there but no such luck on the outfit again. We stopped in to Sportsmans Warehouse just to browse. We like to look at their artwork. We have been really wanting to get The Prayer at Valley Forge and they had one that matched our house so good!! I loved it and thought we would need to save and come back for it. Eric all of the sudden just picked it up and said "Let's get it." I honestly thought he was kidding! Nope! We brought it home!

The pic doesn't do it justice. It is so pretty and the mat and frame match our decor and house so good!! We love it! It was such a fun weekend! We never spend money like that so it was a nice treat! We missed Deegan and I was so happy to see him but it was so nice to have the weekend together. We really needed it! Thanks for watching him for us! All in all, it was the perfect weekend! Well, all except for the car accident part. :)

Some day......

Some day I will actually update this with our lovely anniversary weekend and more pics of my sweet boy. I need that more than any of you probably because I check my own blog several times a day just to look at him. ha ha.

Eric didn't go to South Dakota. Nice to have him around. :) The money would have been okay though. There is still a chance that he could go to another state that is having ice storms but for now, he will stay put.

I had plans to update this today at work. (Shh!) Just kidding. But I couldn't find my cord. When I got to work and found it in my purse, I quickly called Eric to bring me the camera when he came into town. I also told him to make sure to not forget the memory card. I took it out when I thought he was leaving and taking the camera with him. Anyways, he was kind enough to stop into work, walk in and hand me the memory card. Just the card. No camera. ha ha. Makes it a little tricky with a memory card and cord but no camera. Oh well. At least he tried.

So, maybe one day, if we are all lucky, I will update this. I think I would like that. I miss my baby.

At least its not Haiti

I have some pics and stuff to do a post about our fabulous weekend but I don't have a lot of time right now......Eric got a call this afternoon letting him know that there had been an ice storm that hit South Dakota this morning and that his crew was one of the ones going to go help restore power. He will be leaving tonight or early tomorrow. Wow! He will be gone about a month. Could be a little less, could be more. So this will be interesting to say the least! It might be a little while before I do a post with pics because he is taking my camera (its pink! ha ha) and I will go buy another one. SO we will see when I can get to the store to get one. We had to make an emergency trip to Ogden to go get him some stuff at Sportsman's Warehouse. I think we about have him squared away!

Deegan and I will miss him terribly. But it is only a month, right?! ha ha. Oh and about the title, he was most likely going to be sent to Haiti in a couple weeks so I will take South Dakota over that! So wish us luck and if you can, pray for Eric's safety as they drive and work to restore the power lines in South Dakota!! You could also pray that I can keep my emotions some what under control. :) Thank you!

The last 5 years.......

Can you believe that we have been married for 5 years?! Me either! It has been a crazy 5 years but I would not have it any other way! This post is going to be massive but I thought it would be a fun way for us to look back on the last 5 years! Here are a few things (that I can remember!) about the last 5 years!

We got married on January 22, 2005! It was a freezing cold day but it was the perfect day!

We went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We visited San Diego, Ensenada, and Catalina Island. It was a blast!

Took a few trips to Vegas........

Went to Jackson Hole with my family.

Got Moose!!! Man he used to be so small and cute! He is still pretty cute if you ask me!

Bought our first house.

Built our second house.

I attended the Business Technology Program at Bridgerland Applied Technology Center.
Eric completed the Apprentice Lineworker program at Northwest Lineman College.

Played dress up.......

Had fun in the great outdoors.....

Said goodbye to Elder Tribett (Which if you didn't notice my countdown, its almost time to say hello!!!!)

Went to the air show at HAFB.

Found out we were pregnant with our first baby!!

Welcomed Deegan Eric into our family!

Here are a few other random facts about the last 5 years that have no pics to go with them:

Eric got a job with Wasatch Electric as an Apprentice Lineman
Eric has had 4 different trucks and who knows how many dirt bikes. (I think 3 or 4?)
I have had 2 different cars.
I have worked for 3 companies.
Eric has worked for 6 companies. (Most all in the same field)
One niece was born.
Eric broke his collar bone.
Eric got his Carpentry License and started EDS Carpentry.
I got rear ended twice and was the victim of a hit and run in the Bridgerland parking lot. Oh but don't you worry! We found him! :)
Eric has lost, broken, ran over, sent through the wash, dropped in the river something like 3 or 4 cell phones.

I know there is so much more that we have done and accomplished. It has been an amazing 5 years and I am sure the next 5 will be even better! I know everyone says it, and hopefully they mean it, but I am so lucky to have found and married my best friend. We have had our rough times but the great times more than make up for it!

Eric is such a hard worker and is doing so much for our family by doing this apprenticeship. It requires a lot of hard work, not only physically, but mentally. He has 3 years of school and lessons and tests and classes to complete along with working to get all his hours. He is a great dad and husband and he makes us so proud!

We are thankful for all of you who have helped share in our journey the last several years!
If you want to read about how we met and all that stuff, you can click here and read last years post!

Happy Anniversary babe! I can't wait to spend the weekend with you, oh yeah, and of course the rest of eternity! :) I love you!

2 Month Check Up

Deegan had his 2 month check up on the 19th. Everything looked good! He is still just a little guy but coming 5 weeks early, and having midgets for parents (ha ha) doesn't do him much good! :) His head shape looks great and I only say this because I have been paranoid that his head looked flat on the back. ha. The Dr. told me to start using Head & Shoulders to prevent cradle cap. This surprised me but we are doing it. It makes me nervous that it will get in his eyes but we are extra careful!

We switched back to the Dr. Brown bottles. (I have used 3 different types of bottles! ha ha I am crazy, yes.) The Dr. said these would really help with his massive spitting up. So with the "new" bottles, a little rice cereal, and mylanta 1-3 times a day (thanks Sheena!), we have had no major spit ups in almost 2 days. (Knock on wood!) Yahoo!!! Deegan got some shots and it was the sadest thing! I have heard him wail before but nothing like this. He was SO sad! I got a little teary eyed for him! Here are some pics of his cute, chubby, little legs with the bandaids.

Are you ready for his stats?

Weight is 9lbs 11 oz. This is almost 4 lbs more than at birth but is still only 10%
Height is 20". This is 2 inches longer than at birth but is less than 5%!
Head is 14 1/4 I believe. Not sure what it was at birth but this too is less than 5%!

The assured me it is nothing to be concerned about since he is growing great and according to his due date he should only be 5 weeks old.

Here he is playing with one of his Christmas presents. He loves it! He only can stand it for about 20 minutes but I think that is pretty good. He will just look up and stare. It is so cute. I have layed him under it a couple of times when he has been a little fussy and he has calmed down. I guess he was just bored! Now if I can just get him to smile! I make a fool out of myself trying to get him too! I am sure one day soon he will.

Well I think that about does it as far as a Deegan update goes! He makes me laugh and smile so much. Me and him have both come to LOVE LOVE bath time. He is just so happy and sweet. I used to rush it but now we hang out and let him just relax and kick his little legs in the water and have a great time! I just need to figure out how to get him to not scream his head off when I get him out and dry and clothed. Man does he get mad at his mom! :)

One month older & wiser too!

Deegan had his 2 month birthday on the 13th! Crazy! Oh I just love this kid!

He is so funny with his arms and hands. He sticks his arms straight out like this often. Especially when he is being burped.

He got to spend the day with his Aunt Coco and I hear they were quite the party animals! :)

Apparantly he has heard the phrase, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to." Court thought he should know that he was not always perfect. I don't think crying counts as in imperfection so he will remain perfect to me!

What a long day! Man, this is one freakin adorable little boy!

We go to the Dr. on Tuesday and I am very interested to see how much he has grown and what percentile he is in. Hopefully he is no longer in the 10th! ha ha.

Here are some facts about Deegan at 2 months:

*He eats about every 3-3 1/2 hours
*He sleeps in about 3-4 hour increments (I am told one day this will change.....:)
*He now LOVES bath time, just not getting out! He screams his little head off when I lotion him up and get him dressed.
*He stays awake for longer periods of time and loves to look around and stare at lights.
*We are still working on the spitting up thing. We have tried a few things and will keep trying!
*He is STILL in newborn clothes and diapers. (He only has a few newborn diapers left and then he will go to 1's.)
*He is the sweetest, cutest, most kissable baby I know!

We love you Deegan!!!

Rub a Dub Dub, Deegan's in the Tub!

Deegan kind of has a love/hate relationship with bath time. He used to totally hate it but we have come up with some tricks to where he usually like it and will just chill. I still don't wash his hair in the tub and instead get him out and diapered and then do it in the sink. Maybe this is silly but it works for us!

I love how content and chilled he looks. And those eyes! Love them! Putting the wash cloth on his chest helps him stay warm and happy!

You might have to click and make this pic bigger but I though his little toes all spread out wear so cute!

Nice and warm and dry. I really do have changing pad covers for this but since we don't have a changing table at the moment (dad....:) I lay this on the bathroom floor and use it for bath time.

All snuggled in for a nap after a nice, relaxing bath! I love his hair after it is washed!

Here is a little video of him after his bath the other day. Sorry you have to listen to my super annoying voice but that is what happens when you talk to a baby! :)
