Yes you will notice a dark spot on his shirt. I bet you can guess what it is! And plaid is way hard to touch up. Oh well it just reminds us of his spitting up talent!

Because I am bored.....

Here are a few random pics that have been taken over the last few days........

I call these ones, "Mud Wrestling Anyone?" ha ha.
This is what our back yard looked like after all the rain. We are having some asphalt poured on the side of our house and the huge trucks they brought in made for some nice ruts in the ground.

My little brother needed a hair cut and decided that it would be fun to do something a little "different" for the last day of school. So he called a favor into Eric since, you know, he has great taste in "different" hairstyles. (Remember the mohawk? How could we forget.....)

Here he is before, not bad.

In process........

Ta da! ha ha

Man what skill and talent!
The triangle looks a little off but really it is pretty centered. No worries, it is just for fun and will be gone by Sunday. :) Apparently it was a huge hit at school. Mission accomplished! Perhaps Eric should add barber to his list of credentials?

On a much cuter note, Deegan discovered a bag with something interesting in it.......

He didn't seem to mind the rhubarb!

I should have his 6 month pics cd today or tomorrow I am hoping. So be prepared for some of the cutest pictures you have ever seen!!! :)

He did it!

I knew it wouldn't take him long to totally figure it out!

As you can see, he can now successfully get foot in mouth. Too cute! He does it all the time now.

Thursday was his 6 month check up.

He weighs 14lbs. 5 oz. (8%)
They were a little concerned about this since at 4 months he was 15%. He is only drinking about 24 ounces a day so they said to just make sure he drinks at least that. Do I take into consideration that he probably spits up 3-4 ounces through out the day??? :)

He is 24 1/2 inches tall (3%)
He wasn't even on the charts last time so this is good! ha ha His increase in height could also be playing a part in his decrease in weight.

His head is 17 inches (30%)
This is up quite a bit from 4 months but I can't remember exactly what he was.

We are not too worried about the weight thing since he is noticeably chubby and happy and healthy. We will just watch what he eats.

Today are his 6 month pics and I am so so excited! Of course I will post some when we get them!

Fun things to do with your babies.....

If you ever run out of ideas on what to do to entertain your baby, here are a few suggestions:

Take them out and swing on the big kid swings......

Go for a nice walk..............

Or if you really get desperate, just stick them in their laundry hamper!

It's good to have options.....

As you all probably know, almost 1 year ago exactly, Eric went to the Northwest Lineman College. Too bad we could not see into the future. This line of work has declined dramatically. When we first started looking into the Electrical Lineman field, it was booming. Work was abundant and extremely well paying.

Upon Eric completing the school in August, it still seemed like a great move for our family. He was employed in November and we were so excited! The more he worked, the more he heard about how slow it was. How working only 40 hours a week was unheard of. He kept hearing of more and more apprentices that had been layed off. We started to get a little worried so Eric began exploring other options. I believe it was around the end of March or the beginning of April that he decided to start working on getting his real estate license, just in case. He worked on it every night along with his Apprentice school work as well. To say he was busy would be a huge understatement.

Eric enjoys learning new things and because of this has so many skills! It honestly amazes me. One month ago, Eric was told that he was going to be sitting at home for a couple weeks until his company had more work. He was not being laid off. Well, one month later, he is still not working. It has been nice in some ways. He has been able to be home with Deegan a lot! But being out of work and money is never a fun thing! It has been a little hard for me to want to go to work knowing my boys are at home partying it up with out me! :)

This weekend, Eric took his last test and we are happy to say that he now has his real estate license! He has worked really hard and I am so proud of him. We just have no idea what the future holds for the lineman industry in Utah. He has been told they do not expect it to get any better for at least a year. We can't really sit around for a year! :) He has applied for some other jobs and has been helping a friend with his business in the meantime.

We are very excited about this. We know it is totally different than what he has been doing but he will be great at it. He is a big people person and is very outgoing and friendly. He knows a lot about houses since he knows them from the ground up! We have some good friends that are realtors as well and have really been very helpful in getting him started.

Eric puts 200% into anything he does and is not happy with anything but his best work. He is a very hard worker and a very positive person. Our main goal for the future is for me to be able to be home with Deegan more and that is what we are both working for.

Long post short (only not really!) If anyone has any plans of selling or knows anyone that may be, we would sure appreciate giving Eric a shot. I know he will do a great job! So keep him in mind and feel free to pass his info on to anyone. Oh yeah, and wish us luck in whatever the future holds for us! ha ha

Deegan's New Trick! :)

I know it is not a huge accomplishment but I was sure excited about Deegan's new trick!

Look who can grab his toes!

He does it everytime he gets his diaper changed and pretty much anytime he is on his back.

I have always thought it was so cute when babies grab their cute little toes! And Deegan started doing it the other day. Now he just needs to learn to stretch it to his mouth! I can't believe how fast they learn new things. It seems every day he is doing something new no matter how small it may be.

Deegan's Half Birthday

Today marks 6 months that Deegan has been in our family. Crazy how fast it goes by and crazy that I cannot even imagine life without him! Here are some fun pics from dinner tonight. Yes they are all pretty much the same but with a smile like that, how could I choose only one????

I thought for a treat for his "birthday" I would let him try chicken and gravy. I opened it and it didn't smell good to me and the texture was interesting. I gave him one bite and he shivered and gagged and turned in his seat. ha ha. Sometimes he is not a fan of the first bite of things so I gave him one more bite just to see. Nope! Not a fan. It was pretty hilarious. So no more meat for Deegan. At least for a while.

But as you can see, he loved his carrots!

And had bananas for dessert! Yum!

What a sweet boy! No worries, bath time was immediately after this!

Here are some things about Deegan at 6 months:

*He is in size 1-2 diapers.
*He is in size 3-6 month clothes. (Believe it or not he still fits in some of his 0-3)
*He LOVES his baby food. He has had carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, and pears.
*He HATES rice cereal. I have tried mixing it in his baby food but he knows its there. :)
*He LOVES his (borrowed) exersaucer. Thanks Michelle!
*He can roll over both ways but rarely does. When on his tummy he focuses all his energy on scooting. He doesn't move much yet but he sure tries!
*He sleeps at least 9 hours every night.
*He has started sleeping so much in the evenings. He will nap around 4 or 5 for an hour or so and then again around 7-8 for one to two hours. Then down for the night about 9:30-10.
*He has learned a new trick! New post to come. Nothing huge but I have been wanting him to do it for a while and I think it is so cute!
*He has been able to have his dad stay home with him for the last while. Being out of work is good for something!
*He loves to reach up and touch your face when you hold him while he is sleepy. It is so so sweet.

I think that is about it. He is still the happiest, sweetest boy and we could not ask for a more perfect little guy! He goes for his 6 month checkup next Thursday. Let's hope he is at least on the charts in all categories. ha ha.

Happy half Birthday little man! We sure love you bunches!

Every once in a while

Eric is not the super romantic type. He is an amazing husband and treats me fabulously but as far as being very romantic, it is just not him. And that is just fine. But every once in a while, he does/says something that totally catches me off guard or surprises me. In a great way. I think it makes it that much more special to me. It doesn't happen regularly so I LOVE it when it does. It has more meaning to me.

Anyways.....last night we were going through his music on Itunes just for fun. Eric said "Oh this is a really good song. It describes my life to a T." I was very interested to hear it. Here is the music video for it. It is by Ty Herndon and it is called Living in a Moment.

And here are the lyrics:

Well the world just lost two lonely people
The world just lost two broken hearts
The odds were against it but baby here we are
In our own little place in our own little corner
This old cold world just got a little warmer
For the rest of my life I'm gonna hold you in my arms
Chorus:
And when they carve my stone all they'll need to write on it
Is once lived a man who got all he ever wanted
Tell me something who could ask for more
Then to be living in a moment you would die for
If I never get rich on what money can buy
It don't matter to me and I'll tell you why
I've got it all when I'm holding you this way
I'll live to love you I'd die to keep you
Safe inside these arms that need you
I'll be loving you with the very last breath I take
Chorus:
And when they carve my stone all they'll need to write on it
Is once lived a man who got all he ever wanted
Tell me something who could ask for more
Then to be living in a moment you would die for
Bridge:
Ashes to ashes dust into dust
I'll lay beside you forever in love
Last Chorus:
And when they carve my stone all they'll need to write on it
Is once lived a man who got all he ever wanted
Tell me something who could ask for more
Then to be living in a moment
Loving every minute
Tell me something who could ask for more
Then to be living in a moment you would die for
Living in a moment
I would die for

Perhaps you have heard it before? I had but never really listened to the words. This song has a whole new meaning to me now. I love it. I love that Eric shared that with me. I love that Eric loves his life. I love my life. I love Eric.

Birthday and Mother's Day

Friday, April 30 was my 26th, yes 26th birthday! Man I am getting old. I already miss being 25. :) But this little guy made my day!

One good think about this crazy, cold weather is that Deegan has been able to wear some of the cute winter clothes I bought him before he was born. I had no idea he would still be in 3-6 month clothes at 6 months. I just love this little hoodie!

For my birthday I got off early and went and got a pedicure and glitter toes! Thanks Chelsie! (Side note, she does a GREAT job so if anyone needs a pedi, glitter toes or nails, you should go see her!)

After that I went home and hung out with Deegan and Eric for a bit and then we went with my mom and sister to a delicious meal at The Copper Mill! It was a nice day with my fam.

Sunday my family came over for birthday dinner. And Courtney brought Deegan a present. Are these little sunglasses not the cutest things?! What a cool dude!

Too much partying for Deegan. He fell fast asleep on Uncle Kevin.

He is out! Oh I just wanna kiss those cheeks! I had a great birthday, got some new clothes, Reebok Easytones, a Topsy Turvey! (I was super excited about this since we don't have a garden yet) and got to spend some great time with family!

Me and the wonderful little goober that made me a mother! Today has been a lovely day! Nothing extravagant but it was just nice. Church was great, I feel like I am getting the hang of my new calling (Primary Sec.) and we had all of both out families over for Mother's Day dinner. It was so great to have everyone together!

I am so happy that I finally get to celebrate this day! I have the sweetest boy ever, the best hubby and a fabulous mother! Eric and I have both been blessed with wonderful mom's who would do (and do) anything for us! We love them so much and appreciate all they do for us and now for Deegan as well. He is surrounded by great women! (Okay, and men too!:) We have so much to be thankful for and I am so thankful to be mom! I hope you all had as great a Mother's Day as I did! And now my little guy is calling for some attention. :)
