Halloweenie Roast AND 23 Months!!!

On October 13th, our friends invited us to the Halloweenie Roast in Paradise. This also marked Deegan's 23 month mark!

The Halloweenie Roast is a fun little set up. There are fire pits to roast your hot dogs and marshmallows, and then they have fun little halloween displays and they offer hay rides and tractor rides around the field. It was pretty fun!

This kid is obsessed with lights and loved the lights on these bushes!

Ready to go for our ride in the tractor/train/buggy ride things. ha ha. Love that little cheeser face!

Oh I just love this face!!! That was one of the bumpiest rides ever! Its a good thing I wasn't farther along in my pregnancy or else it could have put me into labor. Not kidding! Deegan loved it! He thought all of the displays were fun and laughed, smiled and jabbered the whole ride!

Eating his hot dog in one of the little display houses they had set up. It was a really fun night and I am glad I took him out! Aunt Chelsie went along too and we were glad to have her help and her company!

This also was my last day of work!!!

And now onto what Deegan is up to at 23 months!

He loves to put lids back on things. (Contact cases, juice, toothpaste, water bottles....) and if you don't let him, he gets pretty upset.

He still loves Elmo! He has also started to really like Zoe and is a fan of Dora. If it isn't an Elmo or Dora show, you can almost forget about him watching it. I can't even count how many times we have watched Elmo in Grouchland.

He says tons of words. A few of my favorites are Rhino, Zoe, Elephant, Piggy, and Pickle.

We have started a BAD habit. He has to have his sippy to go to bed. I know this is awful and I don't know where it started. He doesn't really drink it, just needs to have his arm wrapped around it while he falls asleep. We mainly put water in it.

He has started to help wash himself when he is in the bath or shower. After I squirt the soap on his head, he starts rubbing it around and will also rub his belly with soap.

He likes to help dress himself and will try pretty hard to get his pants on all by himself. He likes to put his shoes on himself as well. This is a little harder and he usually gets them on the wrong feet but at least he tries!

He does so good in the car!! He has had to do some pretty good road trips lately and is such a trooper. We still have him rear facing. Eric wants to turn him asap and I want to leave him that way for a few more months. :) Guess we will see!

He is starting to understand that there is a baby in my tummy but I don't think he understands that a baby is coming to his house. The other day, he kissed my belly. It was pretty cute.

He loves to look at books and his fav is one that has lots of pictures of everyday things. He has learned alot of things from this book like what a backhoe is, a rhino, an elephant, fire truck.....

He can also point out and say a few colors from this book. Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. He has them down really good in the book but not so good when you ask him about colors outside of the book. But I think that is a good start!

He calls drinks with straws (capri sun and juice boxes) la la's. Who knows! And still calls his sippy na na.

Still needs 2 naps a day. If he only gets one, look out! There area a few not so fun hours in the evening before bed. They aren't as long but he usually takes 2 naps that are about 1.5 hours each. Now that I am not working, I usually take his first nap with him. :)

He really likes going to the library here in Casper. They have a childrens area with cool neon lights that he loves. There is a toy area with puzzles and magnetic letters that he always plays with. He also always finds the toy hard hat and puts it on and marches around.

He refuses to eat something half eaten. If he takes a couple bites of a hot dog and says he is done, he will NOT eat the rest of the hot dog ever. Unless you trick him by cutting it up :) Same goes for anything he eats part of. He will not finish it later. Fruit cup, yogurt, juice box, slice of cheese.....

He lives by the moto, "A hot dog a day keeps the doctor away".

Loves hot dogs, fruit snacks, suckers, gold fish, pasta, candy (I blame Eric), popsicles (I blame my dad) and pizza. He likes yogurt, cheese, chicken, pickles, cookies, cereal, too but not quite as much.

I'm sure there is more but thats a good look into the world of our 23 month old. I cannot even believe he is almost 2! I am pretty excited for his Elmo party!!

The Jumping Cowboy

We bought this hat for Deegan thinking we would use it as part of his halloween costume. Since we decided to do something different, it has just become a toy. He used to hate things on his head but he has taken a special liking to this hat!

This particular day, we were heading to my moms for a bit and when I said it was time to go, he came waltzing out of his room with this hat on. So we took it with us!

He loves to jump on the trampoline and it is usually the first thing he asks to do once we get there.

Tired Cowboy

Happy Cowboy!

Crazy Cowboy!

Dancing Cowboy!

Sharing Cowboy!

He is such a funny boy! So full of personality and we love it.

Great Grandma Tribett

A few Sundays ago, I snapped these pics of Deegan looking at a book with my Grandma Tribett. I love them!!!

She loves Deegan so much! It makes me happy to see them together. Deegan is lucky to have Great Grandmas still around to love on him!

First Trip to Hogle Zoo

Last month when Eric was "home" for class, we met him in SLC to make his weekend less hectic. On Saturday we decided to take Deegan to Hogle Zoo!

He thought this water feature was pretty fun!

Me and my goober! We took the train ride towards the end and he was pretty tired. But we still got a smile out of him!

We like the gorillas and chimps the best. I didn't get any pics of the chimps. They were pretty entertaining. However, after watching them for a while, one of them threw up and it was super gross. ha ha. We left right after that because in Eric's words, "I don't wanna see what he does with it next." ha ha

If you remember, last summer we took Deegan on the carousel at the fair. He LOVED it. LOVE LOVE LOVED it! When we saw the one at the zoo, we had to take him on it. He was even excited to go. Once he got on, and the ride started, that was a whole other story!

He HATED it!! Totally freaked out! I had to take him off the animal and then just stand there holding him until the ride was done. I was so surprised. Poor kid. ha ha. But it was funny at the same time!

A few more fun pics!

My cute family!!!

Watching the elephants with daddy.

I just thought it was super cute how they were all snuggled up together!

I love when he points at stuff and jabbers!

We went a little late in the day and a lot of the animals were all tuckered out and weren't very active. It was still a fun afternoon with our family but next time we will go earlier in the day. It was a very nice weekend together!

A few cute randoms....

Before I get on with my regular updating, I had a few miscellaneous pics that I couldn't leave out!

One night I went in to check on him and found him all snuggly in his bed. I couldn't resist taking a pic!

Love me a sleeping baby!

A few weeks ago we went to visit Eric for the weekend and stayed in our fifth wheel for the first time. There's pretty much nothing Deegan can't get into!

But he thinks its pretty neat!

Brushing his teeth and combing his hair at the same time! What a great little multi-tasker. I have more pics from inside the trailer that will further my point that he can get into anything!

See, those were too cute to leave out, right?!

Deegan's First Fishing Trip

Eric wanted to go fishing so we decided what better time to take Deegan on his first fishing trip! We borrowed his parents Tyrex and off we went!

Daddy did most of the fishing. Mom didn't even get any bites!

Dad got one! Deegan thought it was pretty cool and wanted to touch it.......

Sike! ha ha. He whipped his hand away pretty quickly once it started squirming!

ha ha! Close up. Lets just say he wasn't a fan of the fish itself!

He preferred to sit and eat snacks and look cute! He was pretty good at that!

After fishing, we headed back to Eric's parents house. Grandma gave Deegan a little snack of shredded cheese. Let's see what Deegan did with the bowl of shredded cheese........

He made a slight mess! :) All in all we had a fun night as a family!

Vegas Wrap Up!

The last night we were there we met my cousin Megan and her cute little girl Kiera for dinner!

Seriously cute kids!!

We made it to the garden at Belagio! Always a treat. It wasn't my fav theme this time but still glad we saw it!

This is a great pic. Neither of us are looking.....ha ha

My cute family!!!

We also went to Serendipity 2 this day and it was SO yummy! It is a branch off of the Serendipity in New York. The frozen hot chocolate was delsih! Expensive, but so yummy!!

On the way back to the car, Deegan's diaper leaked all over me. That ended our plans for the day and we headed back to the condo to change and relax. It was a fun day!

That wraps up our vegas pictures I think! We had such a good time spending the week together as a family. Definitely a vacation we will always remember! So thankful to Eric's parents who let us use their timeshare! We wouldn't have been able to go otherwise.
