A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned

My mom gave Deegan the cutest piggy bank for his 1st birthday and we decided you are never too young to learn about saving money. :) So Eric broke out his coin stash and we let Deegan have at it.

See?

Did you hear him say "all done"? (a-da) Love him!

Of course I also took some pics. He was loving it!

Eric kept showing him how to hold the coin to put it in and he got it right quite a bit but usually he would end up sliding it around until the edge kind of caught the slot and he could slip it in.

So focused! He was so into it.

Yay! It's going in! He seriously just kept picking the money off the floor and putting it in. It never got old to him and it never got old to us.

Once he figured out where all the money was, he went straight to the source.

We finally had to take the cup away because he started trying to eat the money. He was so dang mad at us!

It was a fun little activity and since there is still money left in daddy's mug, we will be doing it again! Eric gets mad if I take .50 out of that thing but I bet Deegan got a hold of several dollars. ha ha. What a good daddy.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Deegan had a fun/laid back St. Patrick's Day!
He sported his green, of course!

Munchin on a french fry.

I was so sure he was going to walk this night. He was shuffling a little and taking mini steps with one foot. Anyways, he didn't walk this night, but as you know, he did the very next night!

Every time we go to my parent's house, Deegan has to visit the bird, and of course the dogs. He will start "barking" and opens the sliding for someone to take him out. Uncle Dylan is usually the lucky one!

Looking down at Josie and Missy. This kid LOVES dogs!

Hope you all had a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Maybe next year we will get into the green food. :)

Logan comes to Logan!

My cousin Kelly and her little family were able to come to visit for a bit!

Deegan and her little boy Logan are only a few weeks apart and I have wanted to get them together ever since.

Cute Logan!

Can you see the size difference? I love it! I can't even believe that there is only a few weeks between these guys! (maybe a month or so? Not totally sure!)

I don't know the height difference but I would guess Logan is about 4 inches taller then Deegan.

And about 15 pounds difference! Deegan is obviously on the extreme low end so that doesn't help! Logan was kind enough share his motorcycles with Deegan.

And Deegan shared with his Great Grandma!

Here's another one Grandma!

Deegan LOVES to have cars and stuff "driven" on him. Grandma must have known!

We were so happy to be able to see the Williams before they head off to Hawaii. And we hope to see them while they are in Hawaii too! :)

Meeting Baby Tayson

My sister had her baby boy on March 7th. To make a long story short, I went up to the hospital, about 6 hours later, and still not even dilated to a 10, I had to head home to be with Deegan, get 2 hours of sleep and head to work. It was a long day!!

I took Deegan over to meet his new cousin when they got home from the hospital. He wasn't too sure what to think.

Softly touching baby Tayson.

And he was done. ha ha. Shoving the blanket with the baby in it, away.

Tayson Van Nguyen!

Grandma and her grandsons! I think the pic is so cute! Deegan is just look at his grandma and probably saying, "What are you doing with that baby in your arms?" ha ha. I love the look on her face, his face, where his hand is placed, I just love this picture!

Uncle Kevin is more fun then the baby!

Grandma and Tayson

Another shot at a cousin picture. Not too successful.

Eric was out of town so he went to visit later.

We are so happy to have Tayson in our family!! For those that didn't know, my sister and her husband tried for about 6 years to have a baby! Tayson is such a blessing in our family! I am excited for these boys to grow up together. Even though they will look like total opposites! ha ha. So much fun!! We love you Tayson!

16 months old and BIG news!

Another month has already flown by!! And the biggest news of the month can be found right below in the following video!

Yup! At 16 months our little man is finally walking! He took his first official steps on March 18th, 2011! This video was taken on March 19th. But this is exactly how he looked when he took his first steps. He has just learned to go farther. He still prefers crawling but he has made major progress!

The best part is that me and Eric were both there to see it. We have had so much fun encouraging him. He get so excited and is just so proud of himself! What a fun little guy!

And now for a few pics!

Going for a stroll in his new ride! We absolutely LOVE this stroller. It's the Britax B-Ready and it is amazing. Deegan seems to love it much more. I know that sounds a little funny but he actually sits back and relaxes in this where in his Graco, he always was sitting right up and wasn't content to just ride. He sits up higher, the seat is more comfy, it reclines wonderfully, I can't say enough good things about this!

This kid loves to take his socks off! And he usually hands them to me as he does. You can see how proud he is. ha ha.

Trying out his old seat. We let cousin Tayson borrow it but Deegan wanted one more time in it :)

Ha ha. His dad stuck him in the washer and thought it was pretty fun!

What's Deegan up to at 16 month's?

WALKING!!! (As I may have mentioned earlier:)

Talking. He hasn't started saying anything new except for something that I think is "more". It sounds more like "mmmbrrr". He says it related to food so I think that's it :)

He talks non stop and even uses inflection and such in his voice. He jabbers in sentences and looks at you like "I know what I am saying so why don't you?"

He says certain words all the time. I have no idea what they are but I know he knows. I need to start paying attention when he says it to see if I can figure out what he means.

He LOVES to talk on the phone to his daddy. He presses his cheek to the phone and just jabbers and says "da" (dad). Pulls the phone away to look at it and back to jabbering he goes.

Size 3 diapers, size 3-4 shoes, size 12 month tops and 6-9/12 month pants.

He still loves to give kisses and gives the best open mouth kisses ever! Love them!!

Deegan is really the sweetest boy. He is so affectionate. He gets so excited when his dad gets home and they are great buddies!

Yummy Food Storage

I promise I have a real post coming soon! I have tons of pics to post and a VERY exciting video! I just haven't had time to post it yet.

Anyways, my mother-in-law recently found out about this new food storage co-op. They haven't officially launched yet so they are giving away free sample packs. Eric's parents received theirs and they got broccoli cheese soup and beef fried rice. We tried the rice and it really was yummy! Deegan really liked it and that is saying a lot. ha ha. The company is in Rigby, ID. During the launch, prices are even cheaper then normal

You can sign up just for the free samples with no obligation or you can also sign up to be a preferred member which is only $4 during pre-launch. This is what I did. It gives you your own site to refer people to and as more people sign up or place orders, you earn free food credits. Pretty easy.

The food is really yummy, ready to go. All you have to do is add boiling water. I have tried other similar companies and they are yummy as well but are very pricey. I sent out an email and posted on FB so if you are seeing this for the 3rd time, sorry. :) If you wanna learn more, or send for your free samples, go to www.4241.freefood2go.com This is my site and if you want to get your own, its super easy and cheap and you can do it from there. Then you can send all of your family and friends to your site as well. There is no minimum order or monthly contract to worry about.

Let me know if you have any questions. I was pretty excited about this when Suzy told me about it. We have just planned to add to our food storage and this seems like a great way to do it! Thanks for listening to me ramble and hopefully I will have a real update in the next day or so!

All in a days work

Eric took some a pictures at work this last week. Not sure how I feel about them. :)

He is the guy in red. On the pole. 70 feet high.

As scary as it is, I think this is a pretty cool pic!

You can't really tell, but this is him getting out of the bucket to work on the pole.

It is pretty crazy to me what he does on a daily basis. And when I see pictures of what he actually does, it is even crazier to me. Yes its dangerous, yes it scares me. But he is doing what he loves! He is proud of the work he does and he worked his butt off to get to where he is. He sacrifices so much for us! Do you realize it has been just about a year since he has been on a dirt bike?! For anyone that knows him, that right there is a huge sacrifice! We need to get him a new bike soon. He deserves it.

So proud of him. Deegan and I are pretty lucky! Did you know I am going to be able to quit my job soon? No way could we have done that if it weren't for my extremely hard working hubby! Thanks for all you do for us babe! We never know where he will end up next. I am kind of excited to see where this job continues to take us. Especially once me and Deegan get to tag along!

We Love Books

Deegan has a decent collection of board books. I love them. I don't think we can have too many. They are just so cute and fun. He loves to sit and just flip through the pages over and over and over. The other night he was just playing and I looked over and he was quietly sitting and looking at his books. I have caught him doing this few times but actually had the camera handy this time!

This one is his cute little book I got him for Valentine's Day. It is such a cute book! It has some little lights that twinkle, it plays a cute little tune, and it holds his picture in it. And yes, it's upside down......oh well.

It's called Your My Little Love Bug and it really is such a cute book! It has the cutest little rhymes and phrases in it.

Deegan also really loves the touch and feel books. Another favorite right now is his Clifford touch and feel book. He definitely prefers the interactive books that have texture, music, flaps or other entertainment in them. He isn't too patient to have you read the book to him. He likes to turn the pages to quickly.

I hope he always loves books!

Butt paste anyone?

Deegan has started to do something funny lately.

If he finds his tube of diaper rash cream, he hands it to me and insists I put it on him.

Really, he is super persistent.

And he gets a little upset if I don't humor him.

So, rash or no rash. We put the cream on his cute little bum. Just to make him happy. Because really, that's what is important!
