Halloweenie Roast AND 23 Months!!!

On October 13th, our friends invited us to the Halloweenie Roast in Paradise. This also marked Deegan's 23 month mark!

The Halloweenie Roast is a fun little set up. There are fire pits to roast your hot dogs and marshmallows, and then they have fun little halloween displays and they offer hay rides and tractor rides around the field. It was pretty fun!

This kid is obsessed with lights and loved the lights on these bushes!

Ready to go for our ride in the tractor/train/buggy ride things. ha ha. Love that little cheeser face!

Oh I just love this face!!! That was one of the bumpiest rides ever! Its a good thing I wasn't farther along in my pregnancy or else it could have put me into labor. Not kidding! Deegan loved it! He thought all of the displays were fun and laughed, smiled and jabbered the whole ride!

Eating his hot dog in one of the little display houses they had set up. It was a really fun night and I am glad I took him out! Aunt Chelsie went along too and we were glad to have her help and her company!

This also was my last day of work!!!

And now onto what Deegan is up to at 23 months!

He loves to put lids back on things. (Contact cases, juice, toothpaste, water bottles....) and if you don't let him, he gets pretty upset.

He still loves Elmo! He has also started to really like Zoe and is a fan of Dora. If it isn't an Elmo or Dora show, you can almost forget about him watching it. I can't even count how many times we have watched Elmo in Grouchland.

He says tons of words. A few of my favorites are Rhino, Zoe, Elephant, Piggy, and Pickle.

We have started a BAD habit. He has to have his sippy to go to bed. I know this is awful and I don't know where it started. He doesn't really drink it, just needs to have his arm wrapped around it while he falls asleep. We mainly put water in it.

He has started to help wash himself when he is in the bath or shower. After I squirt the soap on his head, he starts rubbing it around and will also rub his belly with soap.

He likes to help dress himself and will try pretty hard to get his pants on all by himself. He likes to put his shoes on himself as well. This is a little harder and he usually gets them on the wrong feet but at least he tries!

He does so good in the car!! He has had to do some pretty good road trips lately and is such a trooper. We still have him rear facing. Eric wants to turn him asap and I want to leave him that way for a few more months. :) Guess we will see!

He is starting to understand that there is a baby in my tummy but I don't think he understands that a baby is coming to his house. The other day, he kissed my belly. It was pretty cute.

He loves to look at books and his fav is one that has lots of pictures of everyday things. He has learned alot of things from this book like what a backhoe is, a rhino, an elephant, fire truck.....

He can also point out and say a few colors from this book. Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. He has them down really good in the book but not so good when you ask him about colors outside of the book. But I think that is a good start!

He calls drinks with straws (capri sun and juice boxes) la la's. Who knows! And still calls his sippy na na.

Still needs 2 naps a day. If he only gets one, look out! There area a few not so fun hours in the evening before bed. They aren't as long but he usually takes 2 naps that are about 1.5 hours each. Now that I am not working, I usually take his first nap with him. :)

He really likes going to the library here in Casper. They have a childrens area with cool neon lights that he loves. There is a toy area with puzzles and magnetic letters that he always plays with. He also always finds the toy hard hat and puts it on and marches around.

He refuses to eat something half eaten. If he takes a couple bites of a hot dog and says he is done, he will NOT eat the rest of the hot dog ever. Unless you trick him by cutting it up :) Same goes for anything he eats part of. He will not finish it later. Fruit cup, yogurt, juice box, slice of cheese.....

He lives by the moto, "A hot dog a day keeps the doctor away".

Loves hot dogs, fruit snacks, suckers, gold fish, pasta, candy (I blame Eric), popsicles (I blame my dad) and pizza. He likes yogurt, cheese, chicken, pickles, cookies, cereal, too but not quite as much.

I'm sure there is more but thats a good look into the world of our 23 month old. I cannot even believe he is almost 2! I am pretty excited for his Elmo party!!
