One month from today will be Eric's first day at the Northwest Lineman College. This is a bittersweet time. Sweet because we have been waiting for this day for several months now and bitter because the school is in Boise, Id and since our home and my job are in Cache Valley, UT, he will be moving and I will be staying :( Some one has to hold down the fort and pay the bills. That should be fun to do on 1 income. ha ha. It is only a 15 week school so he will start May 4th and will finish August 14th. It will be a long Summer but will be SO worth it in the end.
Everything is finally falling into place. I am mailing the tuition check (gasp!) off today and have secured him a place to rent while he is there. He will try to come home for a visit at least once a month and hopefully twice just depending on the part time job that he finds while he is up there. Luckily I have lots of family and friends close by!
This will be really good for us. It will eventually give me the opportunity to stay at home where now, my income is half of our income and all of our benefits are through my work. That makes it almost impossible for me to ever be able to quit or go part time. We have talked with several people who are currently in this line of work and we feel very good about it. We have spent months praying! Construction has slowed down tons and we know that it is not a good field to be in right now and will probably be a while before it picks back up. He will continue to have his license so he can still do the work on future homes for us and for others that may need his help.
We are so excited for this opportunity and are even more excited for this schooling to be done!! There are other schools that are cheaper and closer but take 2 years. We decided that it was worth it to us to pay the extra tuition to get him in and get him out. It is a great school. Although there is chance that we will have to move away once he finishes the school, there is a pretty good chance that he will be able to get on at a local company and we will be able to stay here. Hopefully!!!
So, any of you that live around, if you are ever bored this summer, I most likely will be bored and lonely so give me a call!! ha ha. I do plan to try to stay pretty busy. Afterall, I do have some what of a little race to prepare for! ha!
I am going to miss him terribly but I am going to be tough! :)

It is so hard but it will be worth it. My husband had to move to start his job a few months after we were married and I had to stay behind and finish grad school. It was a tough 4 months but worth it. I'll be thinking of you. Oh! We also have a dog named Moose. :)
go you! what little race?
That's going to be hard, but you can do it...especially since he'll be able to come home once in a while. You'll have to get some projects going to keep you busy!
Hey Kevin will be gone for 5 weeks two so we can hang out. We can entertain eachother!!!! If you need anything, and I mean anything, you just call us!!!
Holy cow, I had no idea he was moving away for the summer! What's he going into? That will be SO wonderful when he's done!!! I feel so out of the loop! :-) Good luck, and if you want a scrapbook/craft making day, let's call Michelle and do it!
That will be hard but definitely worth it. What race are you doing? Hey you should come to NYC and visit me this summer. I talked to Pyper about it and she said it would be fun to have some girls time out there. Let me know.
I'm so glad to hear that you found him a place to stay! I was getting a little nervous. Good luck!
Good luck Brooke that will be way hard I don't know if I could do that. I am sure that you can make it though and knowing that it's only 15 weeks that will help. What is he going to school for?
Congratulations to him and good luck to him in school! at least he'll be close to Darla and her family :) It'll definitely be worth it in the end! You can always come visit if you need company :)
Hopefully it will fly bye, just stay busy (jory was gone two summers ago and we just saw each other on weekends, the busier you stay the faster it will go). Good luck with everything!
I am sure it will be really hard, it is always hard when they leave. If you need any ideas for ways to keep your self busy while the hubby is gone, ask me I feel like I am becoming a pro :)
Seriously though I hope the time passes fast, and it sounds like this sacrifice will be more than worth it in the end.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, Brooke, YES! IT DOES rhyme with "jory" .... just replace the j with an r! :-) Please say that you two are not best friends! I will feel so stupid if you two are buddies and I'm twitching just at the sound of her name! How do you know her?!
