As we were nearing the castle we saw lots of people gathered on this beach looking at something. That's when we noticed all the seals! We had to pull over of course! Come to find out these seals, Elephant Seals, are here all year round! They had people there to answer questions about them. Depending on the time of year there are different things going on. This time of year is moulting time and these are all males that here laying here moulting. The females are off feeding and getting ready for mating/birthing season which is in the late Fall or early winter. We really want to go back during that to see babies and possibly a fight or 2 between some jealous males :)
It was such a fun find!!
