Can you believe it has been a week?! In some ways it has flown by, like I can't believe we have been parents for a week, that we have had Deegan for a week, that it has been a week since my water broke at work.....but at the same time it feels like we have been living in the NICU FOREVER!!! Way longer than a week.
But regardless, we are so thrilled with the progress Deegan has made in the short week he has been in our lives.

Look! No more IV!! Yahoo!!! this means officially the only thing we are working on is his feedings. It is exciting and frustrating at the same time.
ha ha. This is my stock in the freezer in the NICU. They made me take it home since it was taking up so much space. Some comments that I have received on my milk are...... "Is all that from one pumping?!" "We need to get you your own deep freeze!" "You should go into the milk banking business!"
Well thanks! ha ha. I guess that is a good thing. Deegan won't starve!
So he is up to 38 ml on his feedings and our Dr. said he needs to be closer to 60. Hopefully we can get him there sooner than they are telling us. As long as he is not too tired he does great!
We had a great night with him tonight and as always, I am sad to leave him. But I know one day soon when I walk out of the doors, he will be with me. I love you Deegan! Happy 1 week birthday!

Brooke I am so glad he is continuing to improve I am sure it won't be much longer, I don't know if they will let you but I found with Skye if I undressed her before I started feeding her she tended to wake up and eat better, another trick was a cold washrag and when she started to doze off I would just wipe the washrag on her cheek and that would wake her up and get her eating again. Good Luck, I'll keep praying that the feedings continue to improve.
No IV yippeee!!! That is great news! Keep eating Deegan! I can't believe how chubby his cheeks are! So sweet!

He is doing so well! And so are you miss positive attitude! He will be home before you know it. I think he looks like your dad maybe........ anyway, he sure is a cutie and doing great! love you guys!

he is soooo cute!! i can't get over his chunky cheeks! i love that you already have a great milk supply. if i had that, i would've gone into the milk business & rian would've had it much longer than she did. keep it up deegan!!!
I'm so glad that IV is gone now! And I'm SO glad you get to snuggle him now!!! I hope he gets the hang of eating super fast so that you guys can take him home!!!
